I've been a Vanishing Point fan since 1971...that was very cool with the movie references...great job...thanks for posting...

Nice job. That must have been time consuming to put the film with your actual travels. VP made such an impression on me at 17 years of age back in 1971. I now own a 2020 R/T so your tastes never change over the decades.

Mopar! I miss my 70 Charger R/T I had back in 1979. At least I can get a ride in my sons 2022 Wide body orange Shaker hood 6 speed Challenger.

Love to see so much research and effort to find these historic places. I bought a used '70 RT Convertible 383 auto in '72. Saw VP and had it painted white! I drove it all over the US to the west coast and down to Mexico (I'm Canadian). Good times! The girl on the bike was Gilda Texter, a girlfriend of one of the production crew. Sadly, later, my own brother commited suicide (nothing to do with the movie). That put a damper on the whole 'take your life thing' in VP for me because it so hurts the people left behind. I still think the movie is Brilliant.

Gilda Texter was Paul Koslo's (young cop) girlfriend at the time. It was one of only about three movies she acted in. She actually became a costume designer after a while.

I love your video of the locations and taken from your challenger. I purchased my first 70 RT challenger last month and plan to take it out to Cisco soon. There is a strong pull within me to see it as you did. My car isnt white but instead Sublime. Ever since 1971 when I saw VP in the theatre, Ive wanted one. Now its about the experience and trip to Cisco. Thank you for your video once again.

The gas station in Cisco Utah is collapsing in on itself and prob will be completely caved in within a year or two. I was just there in Sept of 2019 and will get there this spring or early summer.

The director asked Dodge for help in the film. As you can see there are many different MOPARs. Even a few 1970 Roadrunners dressed as Fury's but they are RR. Plus a few more if you watch closely. Richard Saraifain and Richard Zanuck worked on the film.

See you're into it. I saw this in the theatre when I was 20 working for Georgia Power. I had a 1968 Roadrunner. The Monday after this movie I went to Atlanta Plymouth Dodge traded that beautiful Midnight Blue Roadrunner for a brand new 1970 Ralley Red Dodge Challenger with black trim(they did not have white) 440 6pack 4 SP Dana rear with air. $4238.68. I got it for $4000.00 with trade. Its a wonder I did not get killed. BY any of the cars I had back then. I kept it 3 years then went on to fast boats and pickup trucks

@@66PaleRider Did you happen to find the actual location for the "girl on motorcycle" scene just outside of Hanksville?

Nope. We did pass Hanksville and found the spot where the Jag crashed (although the bridge is gone), but that's it.

@@66PaleRider ...found it. its about 20 miles north of Hanksville on a road called Temple Mtn Rd just off Hiway 24.

Lots of film locations in that area. 20 miles further north on Old State Rte 24/1007 off Hiway 24, part of the Jag chase scene was shot.
