Both the Dodge Charger and Plymouth Road Runner were similar cars built on the same platform. Both cars had the same engine/transmission, but different body panels and interior. Both were equipped with 383, 440, and 426 Hemi V8 engines. The 440 V8 in the Charger was called the Magnum. When equipped in the Road Runner, it was called the Commando. Both Mopar cars were awesome.

I had a '69 Charger back in the day. That car had a mind of it's own. It wasn't happy going slow. It wanted to go fast. I had the 383 which wasn't a hemi but it was very quick off the line and in the top end. It was pretty rare for a Mustang or Camarro to beat me. Me and my buddies had a ball in that car and drove it all over rural Ohio and Michigan. Sure, it would sip some gas but back then gas was like $1.25 a gallon.

@lovethesmellofracefuelinth73745 жыл бұрын
randy95023 yep they felt right because of the rawness of the muscle. I have a 2010 Challenger SRT8 and love its performance but no matter what I do, it's nothing like the old Mopars

@@lovethesmellofracefuelinth7374 and randy95023, maybe so, but the old-school Mopar engines would absolutely get thrashed by new-school Mopar engines, and I am a fan of old-school Mopar. Pax Humana oh yeah the performance of the 3gen hemis are second to none, and that includes the 426 cross ram and hemi engines.
