Ah, good memories! I was there as well. We were standing on the paddock watching the straight and the difference in sound was really noticeable. The other cars were pretty much all DFV's, I think. What really blew my mind though was the freedom you had to move around there. No cars were blocked by fences or anything. I walked through the garage between the F1 cars to the pit lane but noticed my way was blocked by a mechanic but he politely stepped aside! My friend who goes there every year explained that they started with lots of fences but it turned out they weren't needed. It's all petrol heads over there. Nobody is going to risk damaging his childhood dream! My dream car was the Saudia Fly Williams but it sounded nothing like the Matra V12.

Hay un error en la descripción ese Ligier no es de 1979 es de 1980 esa nomenclatura la uso el equipo ese año, para mas datos ese modelo en pista es el que ganó con Didier Pironi el GP de Bélgica de 1980. El JS 11 corrió en 1979 y su evolución JS 11/15 corrió en 1980

There's some good wheel to wheel action there with people trying to go up the inside of people, and I bet they don't go whinging about it in press conferences afterwards.

+AndreiTupolev Exactly, but it's more the race directors who don't allow much wheel to wheel action. Let them race!
