There was a weekly syndicated version of Tattletales from September 1977-September 1978, this is the first footage of it seen on YOutube as far as I remember. GSN probably had the rights to air the syndicated Tattletales(the episodes are assumed to exist), but they never aired it. I can't imagine Buzzr ever getting around to airing the syndie Tattletales. In the promo for the syndicated Price is Right, they show a pic of Dennis James, who hosted the nighttime syndicated TPIR from 1972-1977 but in Fall 1977, Barker took over as host and was hosting it by this point.

Wow; Tattle Tales! As of 2021 that show is rerunning on Buzzr, a retro game show network that is available over the air in many parts of the country.

I remember wanting to watch it because a couple of my neighborhood friends (who were my age--I was 6 in 1977) were raving about it. My parents wouldn't let me watch it because they thought it was too scary.

Feel like I just want to scoop up Corey Feldman in the Santa Claus/MacDonald's comm. and give him back the childhood he said he never had, and his innocent happiness :(

My sister was born in 1977, and she had that "Baby's First Christmas" ornament too! I think my father and stepmother still have it. I kept my childhood ornaments for myself, but I don't think my siblings did.

That's longtime SF Bay Area news personality Ross McGowan in the First Alert commercial. When I saw him and the plug for Pay 'n Save I thought this was from a Bay Area station. Ken Berry seems to be channeling Harold Hill in the Kinney Shoes commercial, which is fitting since he played Hill in a production of THE MUSIC MAN a couple years before.

More "Before They Were Stars": In addition to Corey Feldman in the iconic McDonald's Christmas ad, we also have Shelley Smith for English Leather. Plus those four women in the Playtex Free Spirit ad were each in tons of TV commercials back then, but I don't believe I ever knew any of their names...pity, because they were all beautiful.

Although the video in this volume isn't of the greatest quality and has a couple of skips, these are a lot of fun to watch. 2:58--I love Hallmark Christmas ornaments! I have several that were given to me as gifts, and a few others that I inherited from my grandparents after their passing. See my comment below about "Baby's First Christmas." 4:56--My father used English Leather cologne when I was a kid. 5:22--The women's hairstyles in the Playtex ad are a sign of the times (LOL)! 6:22--That Hills Bros Almond Mocha looks really yummy right about now. I know they still make instant cappuccino beverages, but I don't recall seeing that flavor recently. 6:52--We bought a lot of our shoes at Kinney when I was a youngster. I think the only vestige of that chain nowadays is Foot Locker, which specializes in athletic shoes.

So let's get this straight. Santa Claus brings us amazing gifts and travels all around the world to do so and all he gets is a lousy 50 Cent gift certificate from McDonald's? Poor Santa LOL

When did we lose good music in ads like the one for Kinney’s and have it replaced with rap and autotuned bullshit?
@80sCommercialVault6 жыл бұрын
You're describing more of a larger problem with popular music in general. The most common thing I hear in commercials these days is the generic happy-go-lucky ukelele strumming with whistling.
