I"m seeing a blessing in disguise here Joe.. 700 bucks and a few days of labor on your behalf and man you're going to have a smokin' early 90s Honda on your hands worth a fair penny in today's market! That bike will be a little ripper if I remember the 90s at all (I do) and one man's minor mistake (but it DOES happen) is absolutely another man's fortune! What GREAT find!!! Nice work man

Glad you got it figured out, i had something like this too. They said it was a 2001 yz125, wouldn’t go past 3rd gear. Turns out it was an 03 w 5 gears as I opened up the cases, went thru the tranny. Someone added another gear, now I’m ripping it. Your channel taught me a lot and give me confidence in fixing something that isn’t running or running right, also ppl who follow you and give tips, I like to read your comments and add that to my bag. A good tool for when you need to pry some covers off, is plastic bike tire levers for a road or mountain bike. They’re small for tight spaces but will help keep from marring gasket mating surfaces.

that CR was on a shifter Kart at one point in it's life - that's why the is a brass plug in the case by the reed block, that's where you would put your fitting to run a pulse line to run a fuel pump

I saw you doing something in this video around 18 minutes in that I thought that you would have known. When you think the engine is flooded, you need to hold the throttle wide open with the choke off and crank it until it clears out the excess fuel. Don't keep operating the throttle off and on as you crank it.
@coloradodirtbike5930
@coloradodirtbike5930 10 ай бұрын
He's been doing that habit of his for years now. Common sense to hold throttle full open when it's flooded, but I guess he doesn't know, and twisting the throttle every time just continues to flood it.

He may have even known it, but just didn't want to unbolt that engine, split the cases, buy another Gasket set, and put it all back together. Sometimes ya just are sick of something, and the idea of tearing it all down again. . . Well, just one of the reasons why some people drink?
