just google: IPT transmission 370z basically you'll want to budget about $5k; Looks like they do almost everything: clutch packs, flexplate, etc... The flexplate on the Z is a known issue, even if you just run the piss outta the car, it usually cracks and then causes other issues...

What are all the parts for the built motor?
@bikotheanimator61692 жыл бұрын
I really wish I had this car over my 2016 Genesis Coupe 3.8. My goal is 500whp as a daily, but my car can't handle that without a built engine. It is frustrating. I have a cool looking car and it is stock, but the horsepower on stock engine is terrible. I am wondering if I should save money and trade for the new Supra or 2023 Nissan Z. Or is the 370z a good option?
@ragefulhippie62732 жыл бұрын
I was just in your boat bro. I had a beautiful 2011 3.8 with only 48k! And you KNOW how HARD they are to find. However, like you, I became frustrated at the amount of work I'd have to do to the engine before thinking about even 500 hp and there isn't a lot of support(there is but not like Nissan/Honda/Toyota/etc). Now I'm about to rake in money on my settlement and i have 10k cash I'm about to drop on a 2016+ nismo 370 z. Can't wait. Do it bro!

@In.da.pot.that.some_wap2 жыл бұрын
You can buy a level10 bullet proof trans cheaper than a rebuilt and they can take 1000whp. The automatics are a lot better if you know what you’re doing. It was actually easier for me to drive the manual than 7at.

@SOHOMotorsports11 ай бұрын
That is correct with a flex plate and trans cooler 500 plus wheel is doable. It's keeping the torque around 450ish with a flex plate to keep the oem trans alive

Where does a set up similar to this generally run as far as cost?
@07wrxtr12 жыл бұрын
$20,000; Really, that's what doing anything with the Z "the correct way" costs. $5000 for the built transmission, or even if you have a 6 speed, you're looking at a few grand for clutch/csc/flywheel upgrades. Then you have cooling, tuning, fueling... not to mention the built motor.... So it then becomes a question of: Do I want a unique vehicle on the road vs. do I want to just go out and finance a vehicle that may not be AS fast, but "may" be more reliable? New Z vs. modded older z. I think this is more of a question about how far you live from a reputable tuner/someone that can work on the car > than the financial question around. ALL, yes, ALL modified vehicles will have issues at some point, so you'll want to be able/willing to work on them yourself, or able/willing to live by a reliable tuning shop that actually cares/know's what they're doing. That to me, is the biggest problem: Most "shops" are high turnover operations, with few longterm experts, and the last thing you want is the hung over guy on a friday working a car that you've put thousands into. That "off day" or "bad day" can turn into a ton of $$$.

@@07wrxtr1 well thanks. I'm already full bolt on and e 85. Sending my 7at to IPT is next then I guess I'll be shipping my car to you guys, but that's a ways away.
@07wrxtr12 жыл бұрын
@@SorgerC Worthy investment on the transmission. If you're out there running the piss outta the car with a stock AT, a very minimum, make sure you have towing coverage through your insurance (most car insurance only gives you free towing in collision scenarios), as well as rental coverage. I mention this as, when my 7AT went out after just a short spirited morning run, those were additional costs I wasn't anticipating. Luckily that was it, but the dealership took a full month to replace the transmission, and now I have "trust issues" with the supposedly "rebuilt" transmission that's in there. Lets just say, I'm the guy in the slow lane takin it easy these days until I can do the full $5000 transmission upgrade, or just buy the new Z (depending upon what the dealer markups will be...). "Allegedly" JATCO has done a little more work on reliability for the new 9-speed going into the new Z, but like everything, only time will tell, and it may just be smarter to go manual assuming the csc issues have been solved.
