335i owner here. All I have to say is wait till you maintain one. BMW took TWELVE years to finally have a recall on the injectors - that is politics, how wasn't that done before? The faulty wastegates are a headscratcher - actually not, it'splanned obsolescence. Honestly, you need to make 100k(CAD) a year with the cost of living to maintain this car if the known issues aren't taken care of. I am finally on the very last step.. I have done all supporting mods except for fueling upgrades.. I am upgrading the turbos. I am legit thinking of selling and buying a supra, though!

@@krissklein bro... i really really hate that chime.. i have ptsd from it, when i drive and hesr it cos of some random shit, my heart literally drops. I.e: Low washer fluid, ding.. Light bulbs die, ding... Tire pressure, ding... Low oil level, ding..ding.. Check engine, ding.. Service schedule, ding... Brakes due in x kms, ding... And 20 more dings for w.e This happens or well used to happen on a constant basis when i got my first e92 then i fixed whatever tf the previous owner neglected to do. Now even when a passenger/friend gets in or out of the car, im like in my head saying you better frkng put on your seat belt asap or else that ding comes on 😠😤 Lmao 🤣

The N54 sounds naughty, I've always loved its sound, especially with a proper exhaust. And the twin turbos make for a great (and easy) tuning potential. But the best thing is you can put equal-length midpipes to the S55 and S58 engines and they make them sound exactly like the N54! 💗🤘😏

They are, especially these stage 3 cars.. I would not go beyond stage 2 though, to keep solid longterm reliability.. I also have a N54 car, a 2014 BMW Z4 35is which is stage 1 tuned to 380HP and 590Nm.. That's enough for me and since it's also my daily I do not want to push it any further.. For 400+HP I would have to upgrade the intercooler.. Not even talking about all the rest like chargepipe, downpipes, turbo's, fuelpump etc if you want stage 3 and even more power.. 700HP and 850Nm is a lot..

it's a lot to ask for the oem gearbox but it actually does a fantastic job managing the power. the guys who tuned my e91 (330d same gearbox) actually said they prefer the automatic to manual. it doesnt have the fastest shifts but it's not a liability, now admittedly this has a lot more power.

i think it may be to do with the fact that the transmission is not able to cope properly with the amount of power as it is the 6 speed zf i believe. if it was the dct like what was offered in the e92 335i then it would handle it better

Gearbox probably needs a full service, including sleeves, seals, solenoids. XHP stage 3 transmission map, if it hasn't already.

Just a clarification, that "70" sign on the video isn't actually 70km/h, it's 70m/s! Standard unit for measuring length is meter and second for measuring time. So the driver is well within the speed limit on this one!

There’s a couple how tos on KZbin & Beemer forums, from memory you take off the front panel on the steering wheel unplug a cable from one of the control boxes & switch a cable over, pretty straight forward, was going to do it on my e92 but waiting until I do a steering wheel upgrade with some nicer paddle shifters Hope this helps 😊 if I can find & remember to, I’ll chuck a link here of someone’s how to

​@@Saif0412 Probably the turbos went out. The stock internals are good for around 600whp. Then again, the thing that destroys these motors is putting out massive torque that upgraded twins make at low RPMs. A big single can do 700whp+ with not too many issues.

It's been so long since I had my 335i, I forgot about the paddle shifters. You could either pull the paddle toward you like every other car in the modern market, or use your thumb to push the "button." By the looks of it at 4:30, maybe that technology had some issues?

Great acceleration, but no way this has 700 hp. There are videos here on KZbin with 335i achieving similar 100 - 240+ km/h with 450 - 470 bhp, although those are E92s. Even so, this accelerates a bit slowish for 700 hp.
