7029 Clun Castle & 5043 Earl of Mount Edgecumbe - Leamington Spa - 04/03/2023

For the first time in preservation, two double chimney Castle Class locomotives double head. Running a private charter from Birmingham Snow Hill - Didcot.

That train was certainly worth turning out to see. I went to Oxford and Banbury for the return trip and was rewarded with a high speed run through Oxford as they were making up for time lost at an earlier PW. slack. That footage, plus the footage from Didcot Railway Centre is on my Channel if you'd like to have a look.

They looked stunning working together. Nice not to have a class 47 at the rear of the train.
