That’s not historically correct, early heads of the church conveniently changed the dates of a particular birthday, in a particular story, to be more important to the Jews as they were the main targets for conversion, Dec 25th was already an important date to the Jews before they heard of Jesus, just like the pilgrims never had turkey and stuffing on the “first” thanksgiving, that baseless assertion was added into the tradition later, but it all makes people happy and that’s all I care about

Heck, you can't even spell it Xmas without someone being offended. Christmas is still a happy holiday, and X is a cross, the Greek letter Christos, but I'm flat out done with defending myself to these people. I no longer wish anyone a happy holiday. I think you are 100% correct. As hard as it is, I keep myself away from the "news you need to know" bs mentality. People haven't changed much, but the anxiety we get bombarded with constantly with media is something. And if you are like me (don't watch news), you get the label of 'burying your head in the sand' from some folks. In the end, I thank God for all I have and the ability to remember these gems....and see them! Who would have thought we'd see these like we do today?!?!

I agree, Growing up thru the 60’s and 70’s and finally the eighties. Yes we had our problems, but it sure seems like the paranoia level has gotten way out of control.

Wow I really miss the 70s and 80s. I would love it if we were back at those times again. I wish my kids could experience the fun I had in those days. Thank you for sharing this. 🤗👍🏻

These commercials take me back to being a kid again, home with my mom and dad. They're both gone now, but I cherish the memories.

I remember these ads when new.I was in my teens during the latter half of the 1970's, and was 19 during 1980. TV ads during the 1965-1989 era were THE best!!! They usually had a jingle to them, and briefly told a story. They were entertaining, and not annoying.I never felt bothered by ads back then. When I was in my teens, I sometimes wrote to companies and explained that I liked their ads. Those made after 1990-onward really reek.

These bring back great memories. You knew Christmas was right around the corner when these started airing. I miss the magic that Christmas brought.

Remember combing through TV Guide or the Sunday paper to see when your favorite Xmas special was broadcast? You knew that if you missed it, that was it. The anticipation was half the fun.

Man i miss being a kid during this era... We were poor and never had a clue when Christmas came. My parents would go in debt and spend the rest of the year paying it off just so we had a great Christmas. People and times were so much simpler and not so obsessed with money and material things... Oh to have the good ole days back. Ty for the vids

Did you read this before you posted it? Your parents went into debt to give you things they bought at shops. Sounds materialistic to me. Just like today.

46 minutes of pure joy of ads I never got too see as I was born in 92 but always heard about some of them . The music is very nostalgic and makes the warmth of Christmas ever close ☃️☃️

I still look forward to seeing the Hershey's Kisses commercial every year, and I also used to love the Norelco commercial with the Santa.

Bleh 🤣🤣🤦🏻♀️ I honestly hate that Hershey commercial! 🤣🤣 No offense to you, I just hate it. After all of these years, that specific kiss hasn't learned to get it right. 😭 It would have taken them very little money to edit the last bit every year, so he gets it wrong a in a new way, or barely makes it in a new way. 😭

I LOVE the Hershey's commercial. I've also bonded with that one kiss that rings at the end and then gets tired from ringing so much. It's still going more than 30 years later ❤️
