What a great looking, and running machine. Awesome

We ran a 715 gas for several years. It was a good machine fore it's time. I ran a stone into the cylinder one night combining beans, stopped everything instantly. When we tore it apart to assess the damage we decided it was time to put the money into an upgrade and stepped up to a used 1440. One of the best decisions I have ever made. I also made dang sure the 1440 had a rock trap! No more of those headaches.

Dad's first combine he owned was a 715. As he always put it, it made him money. I remember being a little kid riding with him and on soybeans that combine would growl and make all kinds of noise. Then he upgraded and got a 1440, and boy, it was a game changer. Im sure dad would say it was no more headaches also

Farming like it's the late 1960's. I had one of those in the 1990's but mine was a gear drive and it had a chopper. Great old machine brings back a lot of memories watching this. I ran a 843 4 row narrow on mine.

0:33 I had already thought at the beginning... for what goes in at the front, far too little comes out at the back 😂

Most of the corn plant does not go through the machine. Only the ears should go through the machine. What comes out the back are the cobs, husks, and the odd leaf that makes it in. The head sucks the stalks straight down and shears off the ears which then travel into the machine.

Other crops like wheat do have the whole plant go through and there is much more material coming out the back.

The best combine offered by harvester for years until the Axial Flow came out. Their larger machines were junk! at that time. We had a late 915, worst of the worst. Run it 2 days and fix for 3. Good in corn but almost useless in soybeans. My prior machine was an earlier 403. It was reliable and cheap to run, should have kept it. The 715 was an upgraded 403. Been looking for a decent late 715 for a while, for a back up for when my 1660 is down. I see he has a few extra parts machines on hand. These folks still enjoying simpler farming with the older reliable red machines are much like myself! It's the only sustainable farming possible. You can never convince me that BTO farms can ever pay for those million dollar machines no matter how many acres they try to cover, especially with corn down to $3, a bushel! Be like that guy in N Dakota, buying grain for above market price and shipping it to the terminal market at a loss on every load! After 15 million in lost money and a pile of bounced checks, he's in the jail house now! And all those farmers that thought he was a great buyer to pay them above market, their sitting on a lot of bounced checks.

Most people farming today have never seen a manual auger.

Sucks when the straw walkers quit running. Know it well. Can't get any grease or chain lube near that flat belt.

My guess that machine is about like a 95 John Deere. Dad had a 1959 95 and a 1969 95.

What’s the wheel setup you have on the auger?
@715combine2 ай бұрын
Can lift the bottom up with a come al-long and pivots on carrier wheels and can switch between 2 bins in 1 to 2 minutes made that in 1973 been using it ever since

That truck needs some work. Roughest sounding IH engine I’ve ever heard. They usually run as smooth as a fine Swiss watch!
@thomashaley76573 ай бұрын
Maybe true, but from my experience, these trucks are expected to run one or two months out of the year. Then they sit and wait for another ten months to come out of hibernation. Sitting and waiting is not good. Usually causes fuel and carburetor problems. I'm sure 715 is doing the best he can with what he's got. Ya'll be safe! Just a guess, a 345?

I think it's just the video's audio. The truck runs great (I filmed this video).

If whole cobs coming out the back open bottom sieve wide open clean with top sieve be aggressive with your fan and you'll never have troubles with returns plugging. That thing will pick then
