CORRECTION: The fuel used is to a competition standard, and is supplied to the competitors by the organizers of the event, so that everyone starts on a level playing field, in terms of fuel. The Mix is 80% Methanol, and 20% Castor Oil First Pressing. NO NITRO, which is the mistake I made in this video. 2000 views, and LOTS of comments, but no-one picked that up.

The rule says the lenght of the wires is measured from the engine crankshaft to handle bars so the wing is on the INSIDE of the model. Stab is on the outside to be out of turbulent air.

Good job, this is excellent! Small note: The 'tuned pipe' both sucks out more charge & then stuffs it right back in at precisely the right time to give turbo-charging effect. :)

@@paulgibeaultsr-7142 Thanks Paul for your input. Is it true then, that the pipe acts as a resonance chamber?... which needs to be tuned? (moving slightly back and forth to find the sweet spot)?... or is there MORE Black Magic at work???
@paulgibeaultsr-71423 жыл бұрын
@@zombicatproductions : Yes, that's precisely why it's actually called a resonance pipe. There is much 'black magic' to a tuned pipe. Length is one tuning parameter, tailpipe outlet diameter is another. Type of material (alum vs. steel), total volume , then shape. The world champions pipes are NOT store bought! The best pipe however MUST be matched to a certain prop (load) for the best result on a given (weather) day. Piped speed engines are easy to run, but very difficult to run exceptionally fast! 😉

@@paulgibeaultsr-7142 I'm guessing the rotary valve intake is closed when the pressure wave returns to the combustion chamber? On dirt bikes, we use reed valves to keep the pressure from escaping through the carb. On a side note, expansion pipe tech was developed by an engineer working for MZ motorbikes after WWII. I believe he also designed pulse jets for Germany during the war. For a short while MZ had an edge against others racing two strokes. Then the engineer got tired of the living conditions on the wrong side of the iron curtain and defected to Japan with his knowledge. That's when Japanese bikes really started to come into their own.
