Flippin 'eck! That is incredible given the minimal facilities you have access to. BZ you two!

You are doing a great job, especially given the appalling conditions in which you're doing the work - no workshop/no specialist tools/limited experience! Also love that Becka is leading on the work - you guys are a proper double act! Can't wait to see the finished product. Greetings from a cold, wet, windy UK!!

Hi girl, I am sure It may be hot there however how about painters disposable overalls to help with the fibreglass, your gonna be some ITCHY. Love your plans for the dodger and you planned the angle to retro with your boat. By the way, NICE BOAT! Always something to do on a boat yet your upgrades and beautification is going to make you both happy and you, I mean you will feel so proud of yourselves when you get on the high seas again ! I can already picture the grin (smile) on your face Beca & we will so pleased for you ! Until then keep on smiling as you tackle on ! 🇨🇦 Cdn. Dave 🇨🇦

Looks fab, top job. Fibre glass is so horrible to work with, the itching and smell! x
@geraldhenrickson74724 сағат бұрын
Just so everyone knows ( I do not think its mentioned) this project seems to be using a modified "stitch and glue" construction method. In my case, I built a teardrop style camping trailer in this manner. It can be amazingly strong, especially is more curved than flat surfaces are designed in. If you are planning a similar project just do some research on "stitch and glue canoe construction". Thanks for the video!

I still think that solar arch is going to last about 10 minutes in a strong wind or a 40mph gust. Those solar panels up there are going to get ripped right off.

Holy cow! That looks fantastic!!! How would you like to come build a dodger for my boat next? :) Take care and all the best from California!🧡
@michaelmerrithew40423 сағат бұрын
Make sure u build your dodger with a top that comes further back than u might first think, so you are able to get under it. Go aft as far as your winches and winch handle will allow. Experience speaking here....
@davidnichols1473 сағат бұрын
Such an added feature, this Dodger is absolutely amazing. As others take months and months with Carbon Fiber Solar Arch construction, you two knocked this Dodger out in one episode. Looks like a perfect design of function and beauty. Nice job, you both are at the top of your game.

Warning! Keyboard warrior comment incoming: Is it not easier to pre-wet out your fiber glass on a plastic covered flat table, roll it, carry it to the dodger then unroll over the area you need to cover?

Next time marine grade plywood. You are doing a great job, and that is from a guy who builds from wood. I also dislike the itch of fiberglass. Not even long sleeves help much.

Why didn't Ya'll use sheet foam? You would be able to round corners and form it the way you'd like.
@geraldhenrickson74725 сағат бұрын
Sheet foam may well be scarce in many parts of the world, Mexico included. If you travel constantly, choice of materials can be a real problem.

Please, please, please wear at least a dust mask when cutting any fiberglass. If you are getting fibers on your skin you are also breathing them in. Really not good for your lungs.
