I want to note at the beginning i demonstrated ditching my ruck and putting on my E&E/survival pack. First off i usually don’t run the hip pad on the ruck so i was definitely slower dropping my ruck. 2nd Any small assault pack would fulfill the role of my jerryrigged small bag

Thanks and you already on a great path! After making sure your general preparedness is squared away and after the things you mentioned i’d strongly looking into clothing and shelter related stuff. Exposure is a big killer outside of gunshot wounds. So Poncho/rain gear, sleep system, etc. Also gloves, good boots, WOOL socks are underrated. Lastly if your on instagram id highly recommend redbeard tactical. Hope this helps 🤙

@@protectpersevere2030 big help! I appreciate it - what gloves do you have (the OCP/Multicam ones) and are they warm? I’ve got the socks and survival/camping know how from scouts, still learning SLLS and SALUTE. Did you go bivvy sack or tent?

@@depthcharge126 The gloves are just camo mechanix so no not really warm. For really cold weather you’d want to layer your gloves (Thin liners, reg gloves or additional liner glove, and then some sort of overglove or trigger mittens. I’ve done a video on shelter systems but in this video i showed a bivi and poncho/tarp shelter.

Not sure, definitely more than 30lbs. I kinda just take what i need and the weight is irrelevant. Normally i don’t carry that much water but the hypothetical mission dictates static observation so prob wouldn’t be able to go collect more water several times. Besides cutting water i could prob ditch the goretex top and stick with the poncho

Hey bro, I've heard that jungle bag has a bum zipper, have you had problems with it before? What temps can you run that with if this is meant for coldweather?

Yah the zipper is trash and i’ve already had to fix mine. The bag by itself is rated to 45 but if you wear layers and a puffy jacket u could bring it to 30ish

My Green MSS was ruined and the snugpak looks like it would be a lighter, less bulky replacement, with my only concern being that zipper bit. Everything else is quality about the bag though?

@@chickenzzzzzzzzz the zipper just came off the line (full story on my insta). i have the mss green and black bag but i’m looking at upgrading to maybe the swagman roll and an ultralight quilt but for now i’ll stick with the jungle bag + extra clothes/mss bags if necessary

Yah man ik i usually only carry 2 canteens and a camelback and is this video i only had 5l plus however much i want to put in my dromedary camelback. The main point with 9l is that’s the max i can carry if necessary. In this hypothetical mission you had to locate the enemy and sit static for 72hr observation with one buddy. In a hostile area with questionable amounts of water resources and inability to move i don’t see much of option besides being able to carry that.
