Awesome load out! The BCB fire dragon is an underrated stove. I scuffed mine up with medium sand paper then hit it with black high heat paint. Also the fuel tabs are hard to come by here in the US, you can bring a small bottle of Sterno “green” instead, it burns efficiently and it’s available anywhere. Glad to see dudes still rocking Alice gear!

I think it's a niche concept. The Marines are doing it right with the M27. The heat issue at the bolt is not a issue like a DI system. And the fact HK has a better barrel steel to handle the stresses of sustained rates of fire makes it a viable option. But in the grand scheme of things. I think you aren't going to get much more sustained rates of fire from a DI/IP setups than just running a regular AR. Lot of heat. And you are adding unneeded weight. I think in the LARPY Minute Man scenario area of denial is going to have to be accurate fire. Dispersing on contact. Living to fight another day. This concept ties you to one thing. A defensive posture. No bueno. Especially without fortification. And...Especially due to the fact you only have small arms to defend it with. It'd be different if I had a mortar section trailing and had arty on call. I get the fact people have property and may want to defend it. And communities as well. Know when hold'em and know when to fold'em. And then there's ammo expenditure. For no really good reason. I'd be more scared of a guy that can run a bolt gun and head shoot you. Than some dimwit blowing off his ammo trying envelop me with his beer drinking buddies. Doing bounding overwatch to the tune of heavy breathing. And some cardiac arrest mixed in.
@protectpersevere20302 ай бұрын
@@DutchK75 I mean everything in this realm is kinda niche. The iar is pretty cool but even this setup is better than the average 16in government barrel. I agree with you that Accurate fire at range vs sheer RPS is better but that’s also what this will do well. It’s got an accurate barrel that will maintain the same Accuracy even after several mags which some guns don’t. Also I mentioned hasty ambushes and whatnot so I don’t think this weapon is bound to any defensive position but gives you options. I have bolt guns but similar to the SPR concept it has to be first “A Fighting Rifle” especially in a small squad or even two man lp op. At the end of the day accuracy and success is 90% the human part and less the gear setup. Thanks for watching

Ive been wondering how this setup would work without the RRH heat sink. Still a RS gas block. I dont mind getting a RRH upper, but I like to tinker.
@JuryRigJohn2 ай бұрын
The rrh heat sink is just aluminum pipe with fins pressed onto the barrel and beryllium copper wire wound over the gas tube. Imo an easier way to achieve the same thing would be to buy the the aluminum pipe (or copper for that matter) lathe in the fins, split the pipe in half and use constant pressure clamps to affix to barrel. The id of the pipe would have to be undersized to ensure constant contact through heat expansion but it would be cheaper than the rrh setup and removable. And if you did it in copper that’s gonna shed heat a lot faster, with a weight penalty. But hey probably still lighter than a m249, still cheaper than one, and can throw down and maintain a higher fire rate than a normal rifle.

We used to put can goods inside our spare socks. MREs suck. You can do hammocks really tactical. Keep it low. They make great fueld chairs. Preface: a hammock is a piece of med kit. It can be used as a stretcher. Also, for a heat casualty, strip him naked, put him in a hammock, soak him and the hammock... then gently rock the hammock. It's instant jungle AC. 1) try sleeping in a dug in fighting position without one. Try sleeping in the back of a 2-1/2 ton as its moving without one. In the desert... string it up between vehicles. 2) Tics, chiggers, snakes, and other creepy crawlies will degrade your health in a short time. Getting up off the ground... even 6" is enough to keep you healthy. We used to use paracord diy extenders to lower the Alice bekt below the kidney pad on the Alice Ruck. That system sucked. We preferred small Made in Korea Alice packs with no frame.
