72hrs at Sea...Filled a 150ft Boat (American Patriot: Pulley Ridge Fishing)

This was my first time going on a long range sport fishing boat out of Florida. We left Marco Island, Florida on the American Patriot and went hundreds of miles offshore to fish an area known as pulley ridge in the Gulf of Mexico. Our goal was to deep drop using a combination of bait and slow pitch jigging for a variety of species. We caught Queen Snapper, Warsaw Grouper, Kitty Mitchell Grouper, Snowy Grouper, Yellow edge grouper, Vermillion Snapper, Blackfin Tuna, Wahoo and many more. We were primarily fishing from 500ft-1000ft of water and most of he fish we were fishing for have never seen light or very little light. This was the trip of a lifetime, with many bucket list fish caught.

I have watched all of the AP videos over the years and there have been many good ones but THIS video takes the prize just like you did for that incredible Queen snapper you landed. Over the last few years as we have all made the move toward Slow Pitch jigging - easily the most exciting way to fish - this content will be responsible for getting even more anglers into SPJ (if that's possible) LOL! You really made me feel like I was there on deck and NO ONE shows and explains everything the way you do. KZbinrs reading this should use this as a template on how to film and edit content. After watching this video, I’m feeling pretty blessed for our fishing here in So. Ca. We don’t have to travel 12hrs on a 72 hr trip for rock fish. Caught limits(6) of BFT on a 3 day trip last month 5hrs West of San Diego.

So sureal seeing Capt. Jerry and how SPJ has taken off I first started watching The Hearty Rise guys doing this back in 2017 got my first outfit off ali express because there was nothing out there then. Funny story in 2020 I went out on Gulfstar with Capt Jerry he looked at my little SPJ outfits and asked me what I was gonna do with those bass rods. I had my greatest trip ever thanks to Capt Jerry. I limited on gags and crushed my pb with a 30 lb gag Jerry leans out pilot house tells me theres a bigger one down there I drop back down and hook another gag on the 7th pitch up it ran straight out instead of for its hole and a few minutes later the fish of a lifetime is mine 50lbs. Thank god for facebook because when Jerry left Gulfstar I was freeking out now hes with American Patriot and Im booked on 3 trips see yall soon cant freeking wait yall killed it!

I was moored just behind this Vessel while on a run from St.Pete to Key West. I was on a 72 Viking with a 30 foot Regulator as the tender. Such a beautiful boat. We were the dudes hooking up with Tarpon in the Marina. Rose Marina in Marco Island.

Incredible trip man, congratulations on everything. You might want to look into San Diego’s long range scene, they go anywhere from 3 day to 15 day trips all along Baja. Every year they tip near the record for yellowfin tuna over 400lbs

When I was 13 yrs. old my dad took me and my older brother on the helen S a drift boat in pompano bch. Florida. It was our first time on a drift boat. A guy hooked a bonita and had my line and I got smoked the mate jumped over the benches and cut the line. He got everyone behind the seats. For an hour and a half I had the whole boat. It was a 52 lb. wahoo. Jr. class rec.
