Once in a LIFETIME Catch! GIANT Rooster Fish (Catch Clean Cook)

My buddies Scott, ‪@RyanMorie‬ and I took a trip to the Panafishing Lodge in Pedasi, Panama. This is a lodge that specializes in popping and slow pitch jigging. Panama's inshore fishery presents incredible opportunity to catch giant fish on artificial lures, such as Cubera snapper, Broomtail grouper, tuna and roosterfish. We spent 4 days popping and jigging the coastline, in search of trophy fish and species many anglers would consider dream or bucket list fish. This video follows our first 2 days of fishing, there will be a second video for the 2nd half of the trip. A rooster fish on artificial is one of the hardest fish to fool, and one over 50 pounds is a once in a lifetime catch!

I know how you like debunking the “trash fish” myth, have you done one on garfish? I tried garfish patties back in the 80’s when I was working in Gonzales, LA. A Cajun guy brought some to work that had been stewed in a red sauce. They were surprisingly good.

Amazing video start to finish. I’ve watched a few different fishing channels, but yours is by far the best. So glad I recently stumbled upon you. I grew up fishing all over Mexico with my father when I was a kid. It’s been 20 years since I’ve been back. Watching you make fishing videos for a living makes me jealous! Ha! Caught a 300 lb Blue Marlin in Kona a couple years ago, so that was fun. Need to get out there more often. Keep up the great content. Funny to see Pato in your video. I met him in New Zealand at the airport a few years back. He was wearing a hat from my mates online tackle shop in Australia and that's how we started talking. Cool vid as always and nice Rooster Viktor. If you want to get Roosters like that landbased, I can take you to a cool place in Mexico where you can sight cast them off the beach. You see about 50-100 Roosters a day, but they can be really frustrating some days. I even got Mahi Mahi off the beach there.
