Our 1948 Jeep Willys Station Wagon came to us out of Omaha Nebraska.
An all original example that is in great mechanical shape, and wears its original paint and real authentic patina! The Yellow wheels with the original Willys Hubcaps set off the green and really complete the look!
With all the history and development that the Jeep Willys wagon represents, it's an amazing piece!
This was the first wagon to be designed with all steel sides, unlike any other brand on the market that were doing wood screwed to metal type of wagons, think of the Woody Wagon which was originally created as a cheaper utilitarian vehicle, the Ford Woody quickly turned into one of the most iconic and recognizable cars of all time.
The Jeep Willys Station Wagon The steel body was efficient to mass-produce, easier to maintain and safer than the real wood-bodied station wagon versions at the time. Within the first two years of the Jeep Wagon's production, the only manufacturer in the United States with a station wagon that was comparable in price was Crosley. The Jeep Wagon was also the first Willys product with independent front suspension.
Jeeps being as valuable as they are on their own, this one having as much revolutionary technology for its time, it's no wonder this found its way into our collection!

It's a two wheel drive! Those should have been outlawed years ago. They have a very dangerous front suspension. If the end of the cross spring snaps off it drops the wheel and what's left of the axle on the ground. Try that at 50 to 60 miles per hour.
