#73 CRE 8900 CB Radio Signal Meter Repair

This radio had some interesting issues, such a loose component floating around on the PCB (I never did figure out where it came from!), a badly soldered resistor (which turned out to be the fault), and evidence of someone else having worked on the radio, leaving solder paste mess on the PCB.
Also had some bad solder joints.

Can you easily get the service manuals for these radios?

I'd like to know how to put an external analog s-meter on this radio. I want to use it for "fox hunting" or "t-hunting". Many of the imports have a jack in the back for external meters. Any idea where on the board an external meter could be connected. Usually a single point for signal plus a board ground. Thankfully. My CRE8900 has not been fussed with like that poor radio in the video. I know this vid is kind of old but any help would be appreciated.
