Don't forget to arm the lift dumpers once you're at lower altitudes and speeds. I totally missed them in this tutorial!

What are Lift Dumpers?
@n35ql
@n35ql Жыл бұрын
@@braniffsimpilotThey are called spoilers and/or speedbrakes these days. The control surface that rises on the top side of the wing, breaking the aerodynamics of the air around the wing thus reducing lift factor and also increasing drag.

Also pro tip, if throttle pushed to full the arm switch will be popped back to original position, aka lift dumper will be disarmed and need to be re-armed again.

Clever flying to make it smooth for the passengers :) I have only 1 flight under my belt with F28, so there's a lot to practice, danke !

It's better to use the airbrake rather than reduce below 75% RPM. I also would recommend deploying the air brake when intercepting the glide slope, the accounting department won't be very happy about the fuel burn and engine wear but the ship will be much more controllable and it will be easier to adjust the speed on final

oh yes, it's certainly a plane to stay ahead of! But hey, did you know we did the same calculations when flying the 737 as well to crosscheck the FMC?

Practice, practice, practice ! and then practice again !. Its always a bit harder to go back and learn VOR, descent maths, speeds etc after spending months flying the Airbus series and getting used to all that automation. This F28 "pocket rocket" is really a joy to fly, and many thanks for your excellent tutorials. I also agree with some of the comments below, making comparisons witht the BAe 146 and its particular auto-throttle system. The F28 is indeed smoother to fly. of course the BAe146 and F28 are very different hardware. Simply cannot make a simple direct comaprison. But for the flight simmer, the F28 is nice to fly. Thank you.

Thanks for the tutorials. This plane seems easier to use overall than the Bae 146, mainly because of the lack of the somewhat cumbersome autothrottle system that the 146 has. Starting up the plane is more starightforward in F28 as well, handling wise I prefer again the the F28, it controls more smoothly, predictably than the 146. I probably would recommend the Fokker 28 right now over the Bae 146, especially to less experienced flight simmers

I use the TGT mode on 146 trust computing and take the throttles back till it will be controlled by thrust computer, this keeps the speed well and had no problem with it.

Any news on the development progress on Just Flight's Fokker 100?

When navigating to the next vor why not using the radial to the next vor (if in range) it would makes it much easier to intercept instead of following the outbound radial of the same vor no?
@A330Driver
@A330Driver Жыл бұрын
If it is in range yes. But often it isn't, especially in the sim with its ultra short ranges.

@@A330Driver yes thats my second question, i dont get it : at 30000ft with a high power VORDME we should be able to get it way beyond 100nm but looks like i cant get any signals before 100nm, is it a msfs bug ?

Seems you have to be very active in this plane on descent! If anyone asks if pilots need to be good at math I will point them to this video.

yep, you definitely do! On the 737 and the A330 we do the same thing though, we always crosscheck the FMC with regular updates.

Do you mean the liftdumpers? Not needed in this situation as pointed in the video :) The aircraft did just fine without them

I saw it, had a good laugh at it, especially seeing that they *did* redo the flight computers anyway. No need to start beefing back, let 'em have fun, that's what this hobby is about.
