I appreciate your content. Flying per se “isn’t really that complicated” … until you come to the “exception handling.” Videos, like this, which add that depth to the experience are really appreciated. Thank you.

Flying itself is easy, managing everything is where things get interesting!

Just another couple of things - maybe I misunderstood what you meant, but you really are obligated to decide on damage/no damage before acceleration because the ‘engine secure’ parameters are different, ie if damage is suspected, you have to press the associated ENG FIRE pb and discharge one extinguisher before accelerating to clean up. The second is that OPEN CLB should be pulled when the acceleration trend vector meets GRN DOT, not when you get to GRN DOT speed. The third is just an airmanship consideration; with the remaining engine in FLX, the acceleration is so slow. I would always set TOGA and cope with the extra rudder input, and enjoy better climb and better acceleration. Nice vid.

2 comments: the procedure is NOT to wait until Green dot is reached before pulling ALT and second, when you come to the ELEC page, consider staring the APU (for obvious reasons) 😏

the autopilot handled everything pretty well by keeping the plane stabilized. I noticed you were fairly heavy, 69 kilos is like 152K pounds.

Yep, it certainly did!

Why not turning on the APU as an Elec Backup?

Because one of the engines are still running?

Interesting video but don't understand why change TA/RA because of engine failure? Unless I misunderstood what you did
@A330Driver Жыл бұрын
On single engine you might not be able to follow climb commands. Thus you switch TARA OFF.

@@A330Driver thx for answer I’m not very knowledgeable on failure scenarios even though I watched Mentor pilot videos for years 😬

@@gwalker3092 TA stands for "Traffic Advisory" and RA for "Resolution Advisory". In case of a resolution advisory while you have lost one engine, you've lost the capability to do a proper climb. That's why you have to switch from TA/RA to TA

Seems to take a while for the ECAM to detect the engine failure
