How do differentiate between poor player performance and slowik’s performance? How much does slowik affect/cause penalties or fumbles? I’m sorta in between a casual and a diehard fan.

Sure, Slowik was the King of running bad plays at bad times. Yes our oline is bad, yes our wrs got injured. But a lot of his plays led wrs into each others zones, went for negative yards on early downs, and put players in positions that did not benefit their strengths.
