Do NOT uncap framerate, if the framerate is fluctuating between high numbers it will tear a lot and look like lag. Cap it at a value a multiple above your refresh rate if you have it. For instance if your monitor is at 60HZ doing 120fps, or 240fps will give you a smoother 60HZ experience, but an uncapped constantly fluctuating framerate will look like absolute shit

tbh you don't need more than 120 FPS in any game, speeds higher than this are imperceptible. Disabling the cap can burnout your hardware, so I'd recommend not doing these optimizations regardless.

​​​@@ianrust3785 Especially since it's not purposeful. League's servers are hard set to update data at 30 fps. This is also why there's a desync on predictive movement; the client side might be updating at 250 fps but the server only updates at 30 regardless. Anything over 30 is entirely cosmetic and client-side and makes no difference at all when playing. It was an intentional and specific choice by Riot to avoid the specific "competitive advantage" being pushed here. The channel is generally good, but this was completely wrong.

It's actually good to keep voice volume on because I've found that you can hear enemy champion voices through fog of war even if they never show on a ward, I think this is a bug that has been in the game for a very long time so I just consider it a feature now and it's a great way to avoid ganks sometimes :)

Just gonna put this here because it’s info that is missing and makes one of the tips very confusing. The “show attack range” option ONLY works on the “attack move” hot key. So if you have it enabled and use regular right click or even attack move click you won’t see the indicator. So make sure you know what that hot key is/have it bound to a key you prefer.

The detailed description of abilities is often a huge downside because the text box will block way to much view especially if you hover on it by accident during a fight etc. You can just press shift to quick enable it as long as you hover over the abilities. I dont want my full screen getting blocked by the new champs abilities with 20 extra notes and scalings

For any of you who is like me and struggles to kite with A key. I recommended this, go to "Hotkey" menu scroll to the bottom and on "advance keybinding options" enable "bind auto attack move to left click". The only drawback is when you leftclick on the minimap your character moves, it is mitigated by holding CTRL then left click. but this one option made a huge difference for me, in terms of csing, kiting and stuff.

One thing that killed me a lot of times is minimap movements. I play adc a lot and when accidentally click on the edge of the minimap, my caracter starts to walk to top... Well with this option off I can't just click on the minimap and go to lane for example, but its not a big problem since you can just left click on it then click on the ground like usual.

I think they changed it, enter in training mode and put an enemy among the acuaminas, them toggle target champions only and press a and left click near the enemy but not precise over it (even if the mouse is over the acuamina but near the enemy), you'll notice that the hit will target the champion as expected!

Setting the refresh rate in the Nvidia control panel has no impact on the refresh rate observed in game. The game will switch the display to accept its max refresh rate. That's why the screen blinks and stutters when you alt-tab in and out of full screen games. If you play League in Windowed or Borderless, that setting does determine the refresh rate of the monitor though.

On my old laptop I was getting 11-19 fps after the map update; with min settings. 11 during teamfights. Ironically, I was a lux main. The strange thing is I was still S3 before the updated, during the bad fps days, and for a long time after I upgraded to a good desktop with 200 fps.

Isn't 500 FPS arbitrary if your monitor's refresh rate isn't that high? EDIT: uncapping the framerate made my champion stutter whenever I rapidly change directions. I capped it at 240 FPS and it's resolved.

I gave the high dpi scaling override option a try and it actually dropped my frames down (from around 350 to 180 with maxed visuals). I have an rtx 3090 so i don't have fps issues regardless, I reverted it back to the default. I'm running a 3440x1440p ultra wide 34" monitor so perhaps its better to let Nvidia take over the dpi scaling rather than (overriding) handing the reigns over to the application to handle it.

I'm sorry but there was WAY too much focus on boosting FPS in this video. Your FPS is capped by your monitor's refresh rate (which you did mention fairly early in the video), so it doesn't matter AT ALL that you are showing 500+ FPS if your monitor only refreshes at 60hz, 144hz, or 240hz.

Hey ! You are partially right, but increasing the frame rate can actually reduce latency in games, even if your screen can't display all those extra frames. This is because a higher frame rate means the input you make is processed and displayed faster, resulting in a smoother and more responsive gaming experience, mostly by making your cursor control smoother. For example I only gota 60hz screen but I like having my fps set to 120/240 max in competitive games, even it tires my computer a bit more. It really make a noticable difference, even tho it's hard to see in League as it does not show input lag

FPS above the refresh rate of the monitor still matters. By having more frames, your computer has a larger range of frames to display on each refresh rate tick. This means that it can pick more and more accurate frames depending on how many frames are available to it.

There should be a fix for runes that will swap the rune you pick instead of the top rune when changing secondary runes. It is incredibly frustrating to be finalizing a rune page last second and lock in your champion; only to swap the wrong rune because Riot implemented this bug with the rune page change and never fixed it. It seems simple enough to effect the thing I selected, but no Roit is full of jackasses who implement bad default settings.

This guide is incredible actually. Thank you. One thing I would add is buy a mouse with extra buttons (LogiTech G502 Hero.) This is pay to win freelo. Bind the ` button a side button on the mouse, and treat champion attack only as a toggle. When you tower dive or fight enemies in a minion wave, click the mouse button you have set as ` and you won't accidentally click a minion or the tower. This is an absolute must for junglers, and instantly gave me LP. I use the other mouse side buttons for 2 and 3 keys for activatable items, like Zhonya's, support item ward, Rocketbelt, etc. One more tip I have is to pin the potions/wards and boots part of the shop, so you don't have to hover that area to reveal it. It'll always be pinned open.

I use this setting, and while I think it's worth running if main ranged auto-attackers, it's definitely full of bugs. Shift click will allow you to get past a lot of the broken interactions, like how wards and items which aren't quick-cast wont activate on left click, but they will with shift click. You can also use shift-click to move the minimap around without also attack moving to that spot, but you can also change the setting to disable minimap movement and left click all you want, but now you have to click to a location on the minimap, and then right click on the ground after moving your camera, which is still better than accidentally starting to walk out of lane because you wanted to see what was happening elsewhere on the map

Your laptop display might have been rendered with the nvidia GPU but passed through the iGPU before hitting your screen (if your laptop does not have a MUX switch to change that) so you might want to use the intel/amd iGPU graphics centers to change those settings instead.

Id like to point out that the difference between 350 and 500 fps is completely unnoticable 😂 Also, League is hard set to update data at 30fps to accout for this specifically. That is also why there is a de-sync for movement prediction. Because the client side is updating more often than the server.

So you can get 600 if you want, but technically, it's all client-side. As long as you're getting 30, you're at full competitive parity and at 30, the movement prediction and actual movement are perfectly synced, at least for client/server League. Perhaps LAN is set up differently, I don't know about that.

Telling people to disable drag for edge pan is painful. Camera drag keeps your mouse central which reduces movement needed to cast/click compared to edge panning. It’s by far the superior camera control approach.

​@@Boofski This has already occurred in many games - i.e. when New World came out there was no FPS lock and tons of GPUs died as a result, go google 'new world GPU damage'. And it's occurred in other games, it's a well known problem actually. GPUs running at max can certainly overheat, maybe not on your machine, but there's tons of diversity in machines, in cooling setups and in GPU card quality, you're speaking as if your specific machines setup is somehow generalizable to the whole population. When millions of people are playing a game 1% is a huge number of people. And even if your GPU doesn't immediately die, excess heat will cause it to die faster... why would I boost my FPS too 500+ when my monitor can only display 144? Yes shorter input times, but have you considdered how absoulutly distracting tearing is for example? the first 8 Min I find very useless. Cap it at your monitors refreshrate and be done.

uncapped FPS in League always gives me the stuttering issue. Too much of a good thing can be bad at times xD

Same here. Uncapping FPS literally makes my game unplayable. I'd rather just have a bit lower but stable FPS than have it constantly jumping up and down depending on much stuff there is on the screen.

Same, my machine is a bit too strong. Assuming the issue is the same with you and @Cozeris. If you want to keep it at uncapped you have to turn on v-sync to which essentially just caps it down to your monitor's refresh rate. But I think bc V-sync is technically "waiting" for the frame to be served there can be some very small micro delays compared to just hard capping the fps.

yup me as well. uncapped, i have like 700 FPS or something absurd like this, and it stutters unbearable. I think the engine can't handle that high of a framerate.

The fuck..fps doesn't affect gameplay nearly as much as ping. 120 is more than enough for smooth gameplay, there's no point trying to max it even further

Do not put Power Plan to highest Performance. Please for gods sake, stop this mystery. It just keeps your pc running on full power all the time with no breaks. If you start a game, it automatically sets everything high with the recommended balanced plan. Don't hurt your hardware and do this pwease.

FYI Framerate of the game does NOT equal the refresh rate of your computer monitor. Your monitor likely has a 60, 120, or 144hz refresh rate (unless you dropped some serious cash in which case you already know all this), so going above that with your in-game FPS is only going to do one thing: make the game look smoother. It will help some, but honestly there is no point in having 500FPS when your monitor is at 120hz. Best practice is to shoot for 150% of your MONITOR refresh rate. After that, you don't get any tangible returns.

If you are above 100 FPS already no need to lower quality. Enjoy the game! Your ping and lag will first affect your gameplay before video settings matter unless you are below 60.
