It's finally time to fix the stain on the board and batten, Doug fir siding on the house. Before we start the restain I wanted to dress the house up a little and it turned out amazing!!! Literally cost $31

I can't believe that 5 years of our lives have passed since you last stained the house! Time flying us is an understatement. What a joy to be carried along by you all - part of my regular Sun day routine I can't imagine not being there! We go into Autumn officially here in Yorkshire, uk today. It is comforting that the change in the air is still so predictable in this uncertain world. Those are the most beautiful and happy hummingbirds. I made the mistake of buying some that claimed to be hummingbird feeder contents. Not one hummingbird they looked at it checked it out a couple of times and I had none after that. I was so sad I have got to find the right ratio and make my own like you do you’re awesome cedar!! Thanks for the video Heath ! I can relate to your quest to achieve the kind of workmanship and aesthetics that satisfy you. My wife and I have salvaged and used some of the same narrow pattern, corrugated, galvanized roofing that you have. The old stuff with hot-dipped zinc is very special, especially when it has the perfect patina of oxidation. 😍 Nice work !!!

That looks awesome. My only suggestion is to use the plastic rectangular window boxes inside the new wood ones. We found out the third season the wood shrunk and expanded from seasonal temperature changes and water that they fell apart. My husband screwed ours too.

I knew he was going to use that corrugated tin on the roof of those awnings and thought that would make sense, but after seeing it finished it looks even better than I thought it would. helps a lot that the tin is "aged", looks really dang good

Gang, I have a cat that plays fetch with me. I posted a video of Ziggy running thru the hall after a plastic device that is on top of my insulin syringes. She'll wear you out tossing it over and over. Another job masterfully completed. Cedar I'm envious of how clean your windows are!

Heath, I think you should have done the canopy's years a go, it took you not a lot of time but i think they should be larger, the lower one maybe meeting the horizontal board above it. Either way though, its made the window and front of the house loo a lot better. Cedar will love it.
