Could you please speak to the type of fish finder/chart plotter you use to see or locate some of the Swordfish in the deep. Will be in the market for a new fish finder/chart plotter once I get my boat running. I check out some on the internet but the videos are like a commercial for each brand. @jonathank52893 жыл бұрын
Love to see you hand crank it for 8 hours in a standup harness. Probably 12 hours hand cranking that fish in. Be lots of anglers taking turns fighting that beast. I bet by the time you got it up from 1700 feet of water to get the weight off you'd be begging for someone to take the rod. LOL!
@Juancarlosq6763 жыл бұрын
@@jonathank5289 yes probably but I wouldnt go fishing with a winch
@jonathank52893 жыл бұрын
@@Juancarlosq676 They're fishing hooker electric reels which gives the angler the option of taking off the eclertic reel part and fight the fish. Most normal do that once the weight has been taken off. It takes a long time to real up 10 pounds of lead plus a 757 sword. Happy New Year buddy!
@jonathank52893 жыл бұрын
It takes 10 to 15 minutes to reel up the lead to check baits with the electric reel. Hand cranking from that depth will take 30 minutes.

@zoomwrestling58705 жыл бұрын
WOW! I’m a big fan of him and have heard Nick is the best. This guy is just on FIRE for catching monsters. imagine the fish was harvested to capture a weight etc. Nick were you looking for a record on the fish? If not what are your thoughts on letting the huge ones go in terms of level of Mercury content accumulated in larger fish and allowing for big fish genes to pass on etc. Also any thoughts on electric reels? I’de imagine it makes for less risk to you as a charter, but almost seems like cheating. Without it you’de prob end up being out there till dark no? Personally i’m not experienced in these size fish, so these are honest questions i’de be curious to know answers to from big fish experts.
@jeffsmith89585 жыл бұрын
My experience is a fish that big fought for that long has basically no chance of survival. A fish coming from 2,000+ feet of water and completely exhausting itself wouldn’t make it and would end up as shark food. Idk a ton about the mercury content but I know people eat this sized sword often. That’s a $$,$$$ fish right there on a long line boat too!
