I've never known a Ranger to leave Regiment to join the Marines, but I have known quite a few Marines that left the Corps to get a shot at joining the Regiment. They all had the same reasoning behind making the switch... they were tired of being put on a cordon around villages only to watch Rangers go in to actually do the fighting they thought they had signed up for. This isn't to discredit the Marines in anyway as I would take them any day over Army infantry.

Recognizing that I volunteered as a Ranger, fully knowing the hazards of my chosen profession, I will always endeavor to uphold the prestige, honor, and high esprit de corps of the Rangers. Acknowledging the fact that a Ranger is a more elite Soldier who arrives at the cutting edge of battle by land, sea, or air, I accept the fact that as a Ranger my country expects me to move further, faster and fight harder than any other Soldier. Never shall I fail my comrades. I will always keep myself mentally alert, physically strong and morally straight and I will shoulder more than my share of the task whatever it may be, one-hundred-percent and then some. Gallantly will I show the world that I am a specially selected and well-trained Soldier. My courtesy to superior officers, neatness of dress and care of equipment shall set the example for others to follow. Energetically will I meet the enemies of my country. I shall defeat them on the field of battle for I am better trained and will fight with all my might. Surrender is not a Ranger word. I will never leave a fallen comrade to fall into the hands of the enemy and under no circumstances will I ever embarrass my country. Readily will I display the intestinal fortitude required to fight on to the Ranger objective and complete the mission though I be the lone survivor. Rangers lead the way!

The CIA trained Afghan militants to wage a war with Russian invaders on the premise that the US would help those people, they didnt. Bin Laden was one of those Muj operators and as such had a hatred for America. The United States by no means is a moral country. I don't indulge myself in conspiracy theories as most of them hold no weight. I dont understand the point you were trying to make about FDR and Pearl Harbor? The Japanese viewed the US base at Pearl Harbor as the only thing stopping them from taking over the entire Pacific so they launched a surprise attack on that infamous day, December 7th, 1941. It had nothing to do with wanting to recruit people into the military.

Had a good friend of mine who played football with me in High School, and we both decided to go into the military around the same time. This was back in the 80's and coming off Grenada where there was a huge Ranger and 82nd Airborne presence there. He went into the Marines as a Grunt, and I went into the Army as a Grunt and then to Airborne School to be a Paratrooper. We kept in touch through those 4 years and he regretted not going Army and Airborne and being part of the 82nd. When his enlistment ended he came back into the Army and went Airborne and later went to Ranger School. He actually stayed in the Army and retired as a First Sergeant. Till this day he said getting out of the Marines and going Army was the best decision he ever made. He said the Marines got the Army's used equipment and gear, slow promotions, and not wanting to be a part of Socom all them years kept the Marines out of a lot of action.

High Life War is the last place I ever wanna be, what’s potential got to do with it
@rodrigocarmona35815 жыл бұрын
EdEddandEddy TV oh I thought you was saying you wanted to be ranger but it couldn’t be you , that’s why I said talked about potential because some people don’t know what they are really capable of accomplishing but since you don’t want to be a ranger forget it but my statement does go for everything whatever you want to do in life I hope you do it

I was in Tampa 2 days before this was filmed. I saw some pretty cool low flybys from the helos but nothing this kick ass.

I'm off to the Army next week. Wanna do Ranger school if I get the opportunity. Perfect timing on the video haha
@michaelfireoved33756 жыл бұрын
TheApana if you go to the normal ranger school you get the tab and you do not become these guys. You go to RASP to become these dudes, then get the tab

Talk to th Ranger liaison during AIT or OSUT if you want to go to RASP.

@@Tomhawk3 I'm in the Officer program so after basic I'll be going to OCS. The process for me will be different so I don't know exactly when it could be available for me, but I'll always keep a lookout for the opportunity.

You will face hardships you never dreamed of, Degraded, sleep deprived, cold wet tired and depressed. At the time it will seem like you're going through a personal hell but later on reflecting on these challenges you'll find an unbreakable bond with the people you went through it with... People you hated during the trial will become your closest friends... a brotherhood only those who've gone through it know what I mean.
