@ek74045 жыл бұрын
Do you want to be Ranger qualified or be a 68w in the Regiment? There’s Ranger qualified (tabbed) and actually being in Batt (scroll). If it’s the latter, you can enlist with an Option 40 contract with the 68W MOS that’ll guarantee a shot at RASP after you complete AIT/Airborne school.

Well hate to break it to you but a Ranger Tab isn't an Actual Ranger and they'll make that real clear at RASP. i've also seen 2 people that had Ranger Tabs that failed to make it through RASP. Honestly all you need to do is work on chin ups,Push ups,Sit ups and the 2 and 5 mile Run. Asides from that., The hardest part for you won't be getting you're Tan Beret. The Hardest part for you will be "SOCM" which is for 68w, if you can't pass SOCM you will be put out of the Rangers. and that's a hard school
@ripperwrestling65875 жыл бұрын
My son has just been 1 year now, I remember vividly him wanting to be a 68W with an option 40 contract.. he didn't get one but he got an option 4 (airborne only). I told him to hold out until he got the option 40 with his contract to guarantee him a chance at rasp. Well he didn't want to wait so he took the option 4 (68W 04) and told me he will just let them know at airborne that he wants rasp. Being prior Army I told him if it's not in writing NOTHING is guaranteed Period. He said but dad the recruiter said I will have a good chance at Rasp at airborne school, then I asked him was his lips moving, he said yes, I said he is lying. Well he went to basic at Ft. Jackson last September after that AIT at FT. Sam. One week after AIT at Sam he left to FT Benning for Airborne school. He had made several good friends while there that got the option 40 contract and was going straight to RASP after AIT at FT Sam. He was bummed they were moving on but he talked to a Ranger Regiment Recruiter at Aiborne school and they dropped a packet for him. He found out one day before airborne graduation he got selected to go to RASP. Having said all that Keep Faith and go for what you want. He is going to SOCM this month before some of the guys that had Option 40 contracts. I just can't believe it was so simple. My advice, keep your nose clean, study, keep trying, GET A GOOD PT SCORE. We are a wrestling family so I ran his A$$ hard. He did the work and I never seen him happier. RANGERS LEAD THE WAY!!!

My best friend, may he rest in peace, served with 3rd Platoon, Bravo Company, 1st Ranger Battalion between 2012-2015. Also saw intense combat in Kandahar; his platoon went on 19 combat missions during their four months in-country. They were all night raids targeting HVTs. They worked alongside Afghan commandos, SEALs, and more. I still remember attending his RASP graduation, meeting a number of his buddies, and even visiting HAF once. Ever since, I've been an unrepentant fanboy of the 75th. They really are a great unit and I'm glad to have them protecting us.

The only school you need is Airborne, none of the other schools will prepare you for RASP, they may be nice to have but won’t really give you an edge. As for the PF comment, PF is where you learn slingloads, HLZ establishment and planning and then the monster of a test that is...the dreaded Drop Zones. I never used my PF skills in regiment but I did use them as an RI for our VIRS drops. Anyway...just focus on RASP if that’s your goal.

So I have a serious question. I'm currently in AIT and have volunteered for an option 40 contract and I'm fuckin' stoked. I got my clearance, I've passed all the mental evals, and I've been doing PT with a SSgt in the 75th every day for the past month and a half and still have about a month of classes to go (and some working out on my own time in the evening). As I'm going through though, I'm being told that if I pass and make it into a unit that I'm going to be treated like absolute shit since I'm a "Batt Boy" and haven't earned my tab. I don't know how true this is so I thought I'd ask an expert who's actually experienced the units. (If there are others in the comment section who can also give info on this I'd be greatly appreciative). Even if it is true I wouldn't change my mind about joining. I've been wanting to be in special operations ever since I was a kid. To be the best of the very best. I just wanted to know if that's what I'm gonna be facing if I get into a unit. Thank you for your time sir.

One video recommendation, and I could be 100% wrong here.... because I never served. So if I am wrong, my apologies. When showing the 5 banners at 0:47, show that the 75th RGT is the "parent" of the other 4, in some org chart looking visual. Also, did I miss it, did you talk anywhere that the Ranger Tab does not mean you are a Ranger in the 75th. Or did I get that wrong too? Having said all that, outstanding videos.
@RGR21553 жыл бұрын
The battalions collectively compose the Regiment. So the commander of the 75th RR is superior to the commanders of the Battalions if that helps you imagine what’s going on there. The Ranger Tab simply means you graduated the US Army Ranger School. The course is 64 days minimum (I for example spent 92 days there for recycling mountains). More or less anyone can attend Ranger School. You could be a supply guy working for an aviation unit or a Stryker mechanic and go to Ranger school and get your tab but at the end of that you’re still whatever you were before. In the Regiment, if you’re in a combat role you must get a tab before you can serve in any leadership role so the highest rank you could achieve without it is Specialist, although you’d still get treated like a private in that case. Support guys, like a supply NCO in the regiment does not have to get tabbed but of course it’s highly encouraged.

Technically, I am not a sniper, but I have skills in that area and the McDill AFB has a skeet range next to their golf course to honor my skills.

Times have surely changed, because, when I was a More Elite Soldier (RANGER) in 3dBattalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, I do recall many 3d Batt Boys wearing The BN Scroll, but, no Ranger Tab. Times have surely changed indeed. SUA SPONTE RANGERS LEAD THE WAY!!🇺🇸🗽🦅⚔️🗡️🔪🔫💀

After being out for a few years I can look back and surely say that the tab is a joke that we were all forced to believe in. If we had put half the energy we put into training guys to pass a regular army school into doing literally anything else, we would have been (and would currently be) a better unit for it.
