So with that particular plastic and nedrig setup, are you just casting it out and allowing the current to give the action while it's on the bottom?

Pretty much mate, a bit of bouncing here and there and a great way to catch fish on a slow day or hard bite, small movement in the lure just makes it bump the bottom and being quite heavy it’ll hit the bottom hard. If the water is shallow enough and clean enough to see the fish you can make it aggressive until you see the fish after it then slow it down
