I'm elbows deep in a couple of different Jeep restorations as well, and the CJ-7 that I want to keep has some of the same "questionable" past practices on it. I'm finishing up a CJ-5 first that I had already and will probably sell that, and then the CJ-7 will be getting some love so I can keep that. My frame seemed to have been hit in the right front to shove the frame rails out of parallel, so I'm planning to buy a new frame from the guys at Throttle Down Kustoms so I know I've got a good foundation to build on. I'll be keeping an eye on your channel!

Wouldn't it be easier, faster , and stronger if you just purchased the new ones being adequate. This thong looks like swish cheese. I feel safety is most important. New ones seem to be safer

I think that's a matter of opinion.. easier sure.. faster no.. took a couple of days to weld it up, wasn't that bad really, just looked bad from some previously poor attempts. This was also WAY less expensive, and I'm quite confident in the welding being more than safe, I'm pretty picky about that. It would cost a fortune to have a new one shipped in and then I'm not really 'restoring', but just replacing.. I'm almost done the resto and will post new videos soon, you'll be able to see the result! Cheers!
