My daughter took ballet classes with the Royal Academy Dance . She took 8 years but lost interest in ballet But it taught her more than just step. She learned respect for others , what it meant to be apart of a team and doing your part to support the team, how to carry herself, why being on time and ready for class was important and it taught her grace . I really wanted her to continue at least 6 more years, until she graduated. She used what she learned throughout middle school, high school and college I could not be any prouder of her. I only wish her father could have been there to see her grow in grace . He died of brain cancer when she was 7 years old. The ballet helped her get through some tough times .

Talking about how ballet teaches more than just dance and how it doesn’t matter if the students don’t stay with it forever- so true. It teaches posture, patience, balance, commitment to technique, group coordination, flexibility and strength. My mother is a slight woman, but her ballet training and the exercises she kept up even after she stopped dancing helped her have the core strength to get through childbirth! My teacher told us she pushed us hard because she believed in our ability to do precise, beautiful work and wanted us to develop work ethic-making a routine perfect and getting a move just right is a lot like learning a skill for a job or putting effort into a project. Plus, seeing an older teacher like this woman still exercising and engaging in her passions may encourage them to stay active and engaged when they’re older. Ballet can be so great for kids!

@chelc61017 жыл бұрын
The thing about getting older, is one day you get to a point where, when you stop doing something, once you try go back to doing it, as normal, you find yourself (body or mind) unable to start again. Suzette never stopped. That's the secret, don't stop, and when you do things, listen to your body so you don't hurt yourself. A lot of people who used to be fit, injured themselves at some point and we're left unable to continue, or at least get back to where they were at point of injury. Self care is very important to have a happy healthy life. Take care, much love.

Married at 31, 3 healthy children, last one at 42, going strong at 60, still look in my 40s when I color my hair or not, feel great not yet retired and not thinking about sitting around getting old and stiff. I just turned 30 and felt like my life was over 😭...but look at this beautiful lady 77 years young and loving life. How dare I take life for granted and neglect myself 😢? *Inspiring* can't even begin to describe it 😢
@JoDidntHearYou6 жыл бұрын
It’s a weird feeling isn’t it? When I hit 30 I felt like I have to now “adult” with the other adults. However, I’ll be 32 in a few months, and in my mind I still feel like I’m 24. My body obviously doesn’t, but I feel like things are just starting.
@-Lovely-Vee-6 жыл бұрын
Heismyrock3 It really is. I feel like I've gotten a late start and should be further in life, and things should be more "figured out" I guess...like, I should have done more in life and so much time was wasted just chasing a paycheck in my 20s to make ends meet instead of building a LIFE 😑 and I wake up asking myself "do I enjoy my life or am I just going through the motions?" When that reality hits that you have to go through this same old boring, humdrum routine for the next 30-40 years spending most of your life at a job(s) that doesn't appreciate you or value your time, is one of the most God awful depressing things and I wonder how the people before us even sucked it up and did it 😔. So now I have these impulses to live out life doing stuff I should have done in my 20s. Not clubbing and things like that lol, but making memories, road trips/traveling, volunteering, taking useful classes & workshops, building meaningful friendships, waking up with passion and to live my dreams versus spending so much time at a job I hate to only go through the same exact routine the next morning 😣. My brother is 34 and just told me I'm having a midlife crisis 😭 and "every 30 year old feels that way" lol but I think it's so much deeper than that, it's like we want to wake up from the matrix (cliche 😂). I'm with you 100%, my mind/personality still feels 21-24, sometimes younger than that, but body def doesn't and I'm like "oh sh*t I'm 30." I wonder if I'm just being immature sometimes but I like to say I kept the child in me alive because I just like to have fun and part of me doesn't want to let that go. But now more than ever, I just want to get serious about things and take care of myself so I can age gracefully while maintaining my internal youth, manifest my dreams, and be an inspiration like this woman as cliche as that sounds 😢. But thank you for relating to me and letting me know I'm not alone 🤗...even though I just vented so much crap and lowkey sound like I'm having a midlife crisis 😂. You're amazing if you read all that too 👌 LOL
@JoDidntHearYou6 жыл бұрын
21SayWhat21 dude YES. You explained it so well! You have some seriously awesome insight. I wouldn’t call it a crisis per se, but I agree with you that it’s kind of like waking up and seeing more clearly than you did before. You’re super not cliche! I think it’s fricking great that you watch this video and you’re reading between the lines to see that life is more than just the daily grind. But yes. You’re very not alone bc I can tell you I’m definitely in the same boat. One of my favorite videos about this is Jenna Marbles’ “Adult Puberty.” I have a feeling you’ll get a laugh out of it!
