we can cut the square part for the test. and calibrate accordingly by checking actual distance with vernier.

I saw little point in doing another auto calibrate for .5mm when you weren't even holding the vernier gauge at a right angle to the bit and your starting point was roughly by eye - but it was good to see how effective Mach3 is and that you wised up and graduated to a dial.

What AndthecorrectAnswerls said.... but if you dont know any other way your method would work. Start with 50mm as you did then repeat but go 300mm - 400mm if your machine has that travel. The greater the distance the greater error and easier to tune using your method without the calibration tool you had.

Muy buenas noches, saludos a todos los amantes del CNC, les comento que construí mi máquina cnc y lo estoy controlando con el mach 3 , el problema es que cuando realizo mecanizados de grabado (en madera con una herramienta de grabado de 30 grados )para el acabado empieza a meterse cada vez mas y mas el eje Z , a medida que ba avanzando el eje Z se va entrando más de la cuenta y termina 10mm o 20 mm mas adentro de lo que tenia que terminar . porfavor si alguien me pudiera ayudar muchas gracias y saludos desde sucre Bolivia

After changing the motor tuning settings, I save and exit the menu, turn off and on mach3 again. When I look at the motor tuning values, I see the values ​​I saved, but when I call the g code file and start processing, I see that the engine tuning values ​​change automatically and return to the initial values.
