You two and a half did a great job clearing out more downed wood today. Loved the intro with the fog and fall weather. We are getting a taste of fall here for a couple days this week. Enjoyed watching the great work you all showed, even Bear left the woods carrying a load. He's such a good dog. You all stay safe and keep up the fantastic work around there. Fred.

Good to see you and Guy out in the bush for the fall firewood/sawmill log ritual … although it certainly emphasizes how quickly the years pass! I’m a bit behind on your content - it’s been a very busy summer - but I’m looking forward to catching up as the days get shorter and the cold winds start blowing with snowflakes. Happy Canadian Thanksgiving to you, Guy, and families!

Agree these compact tractors are tippy! I bought a set of 2" spacers for my b26 (from Bro-tek, also Canadian), they do help some, bit still can get unnerving in some terrain. Best part is I'm able to get chains on now without rubbing.

MAN, do I LOVE that little log trailer that you guys built! It's simple, nothing fancy, but it gets the job done. I want one exactly like that. I know that you guys built it for next to nothing, because I watched that series when you built it, and Guy had the old trailer on-hand already. That's what I'd like to do too. Just find a cheap old trailer on marketplace or somewhere similar and build it almost exactly the same way that you guys did. Also, I've got one tractor that's considerably larger than yours, as well as my little BX. And while I like the big tractor for it's capabilities, it's nowhere near as nimble as your little LX is. I think that at some point, my BX may go away, and I might replace it with a cabbed LX just like you've got.

Great video as always. Question. What are you going to do with the tree stumps?
@GPOutdoors3 ай бұрын
Good morning Richard. Great question - lots of firewood in those stumps. Either Guy's friend is going to come with his mini ex and pull them out or if they decide not to, then we will cut them down. Guy's just not sure yet. Cheers!

Just a thought about your comment on tippy-ness of the tractors: is it possible to flip the front tires to give you a bit more width? Or additionally could you add some spacers to the rear? Thinking out loud…great video!
@GPOutdoors3 ай бұрын
Hey BLT. I do have spacers on the back. Not sure about your thoughts on the front.But thanks!
@badgerlandturf3 ай бұрын
@@GPOutdoors on my 3 series JD it gives me the option of flipping my tires to increase tracking width. Just curious, how wide of spacers are on the back wheels?

Morning Ron. You bet - and lots of firewood left in them - Guy's friend has a mini ex so he may come to dig them out and if not , then we'll have to cut them down. Happy Thanksgiving!
@ScottfromNB3 ай бұрын
I was wondering about them, too. There's a lot of firewood in them. (I usually don't pull them.) The stump block is usually the last firewood block I cut.

Do you ever get together and plant a couple of dozen trees ?

Good morning Jean. No , we never have. Mother Nature takes care of that pretty quickly when you open up the canopy and let the sunlight into the forest floor. Cheers!

Crazy how slow tractors are compared to skid steers
@ML-lg4ky3 ай бұрын
Skid steers have their limitations too. It’s a compromise to be all around useful.
@MontanaGrizzsky3 ай бұрын
@@ML-lg4ky I have a tractor, dozer, excavator and a skid steer I use skid steer and excavator 99% of the time for everything Tractor just so dam slow unless I’m using the 3 point for something
@profdave28613 ай бұрын
Tractors can be much faster on smooth ground but Gord is being careful - that terrain is far less smooth than it appears on camera. Some may not be familiar with how rough the bush is in most of Ontario. The soil is very thin with uneven rock just below, or in many cases, sticking above, the ground surface. There are deadheads all over, usually camouflaged with leaves or pine needles. In the pockets between the rocky areas, the soil compresses like sponge, so it can be very tippy indeed when one wheel is in a pocket and another on rock. Tracked implements can be used, but it’s not hard to throw or damage the track or other parts with the wrong swing into a sharp rock outcropping. That’s where pneumatic tractor tires earn their keep.

You guys are going to need a excavator to dig out all those stumps mate.
