Thank you for this outstanding Video you published almost instant after you took the pictures. As many more of your videos this one does comfort me with the beautiful scenery you pick up so friendly while showing the power and glamour of an outstanding locomotive pulling a nicely composed train. Your videos sending me back into a time, when harsh shortcuts where a mistake by the editor, accomplishing the period, when a train like this was not only something you where looking forward to travel with but beeing the fastest way to get there, a place you wanted to visit. You are giving the engine, the train and the scenery a respectful portrait to admire. At the same time, without any comments during the picture, you are paying tribute to all the volunteers such a railway needs. And you have an unspoiled view on the track, whenever you start your camera. I can see this is not an easy task to fulfill and comes with long walks, taking the equipment with you. This is not just a smartphone pulled out the pocket just as the sensation appears. These are thoughtfull decided spots, gear to be set up and waiting for the timetable to take this next passing by, very slowly zooming out and only turning the sturdy tripod's fluidhead very sensitive while the engine approaches. I really appretiate your proffesionalism taking these documents of our era, when steamtrains are still there in preservation and running, long after there withdraw from the service. In earlier decades I tended to think of preserved things and machines as safe from degrading and that they will stay in my life "forever" only to find out that due to lack of finances or voluntary work these might dissappear just later. It is so good to see examples like "Lydham Manour" stronger than before in a glorious livery. The volunteers taking care fo her and keeping the train and the line running can be really proud of their valuable and successful work for heritage. Thank you again for the video and best Albrecht

Lovely to see the GWR Manor back in action. The South Devon coastline never fails to look magnificent in your videos. Many thanks for adding locations to your chapters - makes for an enhanced experience when I can check out the locations on an OS map. Good one !

Very impressed at how quickly this locomotive has been overhauled. Can only assume that as the DSR positions itself as an all out commercial venture, they have the funds to get the job done - Unlike some locomotive preservation groups, which regrettably, can take several years, if not decades to achieve an overhaul.

Have just come back from a great short break in Torquay with similar glorious weather, so this reinforced the experience! Lots of lovely long shots setting the train in the context of the superb scenery. You can also get a good long view of the train across the estuary from the Dartmouth side, but that entails getting the ferry. I did the train-river cruise-bus round robin route which was great and also gave time to explore Dartmouth and Totnes. Was also interested to find an original Newcomen beam engine in Dartmouth, his home town.

Always lovely to see Lydham at work for the soundtrack alone. It really does suit the DSR. Cheers, Bob!

@fphtrains I get that some people say "A good craftsman never blames his tools", but equally I don't use a screwdriver to paint a picture. There is no substitute for having equipment you can trust.

You personally, nothing. However, behind the camera, many things are under review and/or readjustment, with the third party use of video currently being unavailable as a consequence. As such, it won't be possible at the moment.
