I too am a fabricator in the same vain and style as yourself. This the best job I've seen on KZbin yet , next to mine of course. I have a machine shop at my disposal. Try using a Hillard extreme duty V belt clutch on your primary drive. Of course your ratios will have to change but it will be smoother, quieter, and cleaner with no oiling. A great looking and engineered build. I wish more people did them up like that. I'd be proud to ride with you and a pack of quality built bikes like yours.

@theatom72647 жыл бұрын
Nice bike. Glad you got it runnig right. Nobody can make a decent transmission for any 4 stroke motor it would seem & the ones that are decent are way too expencive like the EZM Qmatic or have quarks that are very annoying to fix sometimes or they simply don't fit my motor. Had a Grubee 4G for a couple of weeks on my 49cc 4 stroke bike but that broke twice inside of a month. First time the pulley came off, second time the clutch bell snapped off the shaft. What a piece of crap. Now I'm thinking of upgrading to a 79cc predator bike like yours if the hunt for a good cost effective 49cc 4 stroke transmission doesn't pan out.
@Darthtribe7 жыл бұрын
I agree.. I have a q-matic. it was on my 49cc hs bike. its a nice trans with the build quality and all but the clutch on that thing sucks.. it slips and takes a while for the bike to get up to speed. i'm thinking the 49cc may have been alittle under powerd for it. might work better with a 79cc.. I'm working on a new build, and I have some ideas for modifying the 79cc trans. I will be posting some new vlogs on the subject. so stay tuned.

Try garage door spray. It's a silicone spray that coats everything and lasts longer than WD-40. It will help coat everything, so if it gets wet, it will help prevent rust. I have to do that with my truck. I don't drive it much and that stuff seems to be the best. I have to use it every 6 months and I would think it should be good for this. I just don't know if it would effect the clutch at all though. I would say if WD-40 don't cause a issue, silicone garage door spray wouldn't be a issue either. I am thinking about doing this to my bike but use just the clutch and Mount it to the rear rack. If you pedal up to 5 mph and then give it gas, the clutch will last longer, from my understanding. I don't plan to stop much and if I need to help pedal, I don't have anything in my way. Where I am planning on living next year, I will have alot of hills and I am debating on a 79cc or a 200cc. I am not sure yet. I love this look of the motor in the frame but it's not the best for pedaling. I have burned my leg on a exhaust on someone's bike like this and that sucks, that far up. Lol. The hill I will have to deal with, I just barely got up it in a 4 cylinder car and I lost a few MPH on the top. Downhill on a bicycle would probably be scary and fun. I might be buying brake pads on a normal basis.
@Darthtribe5 жыл бұрын
Funny i still get comments on this bike. I didn't feel safe with that transmission chain right next to my leg. So i made some design changes. And in doing so this bike was completely disassembled. I rebuilt it on a diffrent frame. With it set up the way it is now, there is no need for lubricating the clutch. It runs smooth and quiet now, and feels much safer. Please check out the link.... kzbin.info/www/bejne/oqbQn32kirNgsLM

I have this exact same kit, and the chain drive sucks, the chain kept breaking so I put on a #41 and that fixed it, and all the set pins kept vibrating out even with blue loctite, so I had to use red loctite,my bike goes around 40 mph and I have to get a 1/4 mile running start to go up an 1/8 mile long hill with the 44 tooth rear sprocket, I have this on a gasbike gas tank frame with mag wheels and 18" V handlebars, but I am thinking about getting one of those 49cc 4 stroke engines with the belt drive for it because this one is just to heavy!!! I had a Zeda 80 2 stroke on it for awhile but I'm done with the 2 stroke engines, I went through 9 of them in 4 years on 2 different bikes.my bike holds 3/4 of a gallon of gas and I only fill it like once a month with this 4 stroke, anyway I am still searching for a KZbin video of the 49 cc 4 stroke with the belt drive vs the chain drive!? Wish I could find which one is better!? But I guess I will find out when I try it out!!?

Question: okay, you are pedaling down the road, disengage the clutch, engine starts and you are on your way. Tell me, at this point, can you still pedal? I know it is unnecessary and if you are going too fast, you won't be able to pedal fast enough to increase speed. That is not why I am asking. So, once you are motoring, can you make the crank go round and round with pedaling motions from your feet, without having to engage clutch or kill engine?

I am doing the same thing on a mountain bike but cannot find a belt driven clutch/shaft assembly instead of chain. Also he cannot peddle with engine on the bike as my leg hits the air cleaner. So I need a set of wide peddles. Any help on these ? Even if I cannot find a belt driven I will settle for a chain driven for the 16mm or 5/8 shaft. Cannot find it either. Thanks again. Thanks again for reply. Have you considered the 212cc motor? Is bigger better?Or is 79cc large enough for a bike set up, you think? What would you prefer, knight Racer 8G or 7G, or Monster 90 or 80. Whats best in the way of belt or chain drives? I appreciate your advise and suggestions for a kit for my second build.
@Darthtribe6 жыл бұрын
Well bigger is always better in my opinion, but 79cc is plenty for a bike. I built a stretch frame bike with a 212cc motor with a toque converter drive system a few years ago. That bike is featured in the DeathRow start up vid on my channel. As far as the kits that are available these days go, I'm not sure what would be best for your application. Its been awhile since I have done a new build. In general I would prefer a belt drive setup over using chains, because belts are a lot smoother and quieter than chains...
@MrCbell576 жыл бұрын
Thanks buddy. So you have moved on and no longer build these? Glad you think the belt drive is best. I think so as well, just for noise reduction and such. So thanks for your reply and keep having fun.

So you took the sleeve off the rear trans sproket that drives the rear wheel? Doesn’t it need at least a flat washer as not to rub against the bearing? The sleeve is the same size as the inside part of the bearing that spins, correct? BTW nice video, it really helped me in fitting a 79cc in a Huffy 29er that I had. Just a few more tweaks and I’ll be riding without anything rubbing. Thanks

I was tight with money on everything on my 4 stroke micargi touch build and it came out fine-now I know to just buy a pair of REAL, QUALITY tires and keep those Chinese tissue paper death tires as spares. now every time I hop on ANY bike I look at the tires and what brand they are-------------- im not dying on a bicycle

I felt a faint wobble one second before it blew to shreds. they didn't look so cool after that. if it was the front I would have died that day. those tires are tissue thin at the bottom of those grooves in the tread,..omfg... and I saw that THAT was where the rip started. a PEBBLE can rip that tire. total crap. the nasty part is that when that tire starts to tear, it just follows along that groove, and in an instant, you have a 4 inch long tear in your tire.
