I did 1300 miles on my bike from fallon nevada to green river wyoming and then back down through northern utah. I wore my back tire at about 900 miles and we took the kit out of the box installed them and then tested the bikes around the block once and headed out to highway 50 and on the road. It was a blast. My friends motor lost power between vernal and duchesne utah at about 1000 miles of everyday use pulling a bike trailer with gear the entire way. They stopped pulling up hill between 6 and 7 percent grade on the road grade of steepness.

got a bt100 recently, it goes real good and has really high torque. you pop the clutch and the front wheels up. power is really good for a motorized. one downside is it has 4 mounting bolts on each side and one has snapped. the intakes and stuff are just different shape but still fit any regular carb. the exhaust tho is unique. i honestly recommend the bt over any other kit. i’ve had a really good experience so far.

I followed your advice. I got the Firestorm Zeda 80 kit and installed it on a Huffy Nel Lusso. This is my first ever motorized bicycle build. I only ran into a few minor problems but they were pretty simple fixes. The only issue I'm having with it is that with the stock NT carburetor that comes in the kit, it's a little bit hard to start when it's cold or after the motor cools down for a while and at wide open throttle at higher rpms, the fuel mixture leans out a bit at times. But when the motor is at operating temperature, it runs really well. These issues can be solved by swapping the carburetor out for a higher performance carburetor. Thank you for the advice. I really appreciate it.

Many thanks for the video, I knew that it would be very useful and informative when one of your first points was about the cheapness of the nuts and bolts on some of the kids and how is indicative of the general value of the kit itself. Have you considered recommendations on the actual bike frame to pick when you're considering motorizing a regular bicycle? As you know there are many factors to consider, including the size of the individual, the particulars of the alloy that the frame is made from ( an alloy with a higher amount of aluminium is more likely to bend or break, especially on the axle Forks) and how the style of bike frame affects the performance of the motor and the speed of the finished motorbike. Also any advice whatsoever recommending front and rear lights for a motorbike would be very useful. It's a problem to run the power for them from the motor, and outside battery is always too heavy, and the generators for regular bicycle like our way 2 delicate to be used at any higher speeds or greater bumps. Batteries that are held inside of a attached bicycle light will bounce out, and the brackets regular bicycle lights always break or end up sending your light flying off into traffic. Yet on a motorized bike in traffic visibility is a priority so sorry these problems is a big deal! Thanks again and keep it up

my first kit was that seeutek amazon one and I beat the crap out of it and it was great. But now I just buy an ebay engine only and turn it into a frankenstein engine like zeda used to make with a stihl ms660 cylinder and piston, I would highly recommend building your own frankenstein engine, shitloads of power and you can do it in about 1-2 days assuming you have the tools and know-how.

When you see those ted flags like Phillip's or JIS bolts on the outside, 6mm studs, etc.. you can bet that same substandard quality continues into the inside of your engine as well. Imo, the reverse is also true however to an extent.

I like how you referenced between beginner and somebody that has done this before I’m not an expert but I have dealt with these types of engines mostly two-stroke since I was about 16 years old and you are right somebody that’s just a beginner probably is gonna want something less maintenance I will also agree that a lot of the hardware in these kits does hold up pretty good but I will suggest trying to find something a little bit better quality just saying basic kit upgrade it yourself I recently put together a pretty decent bike it gets me where I need to go and my bike will run pretty fast just having a stock engine with a 42 tooth sprocket I believe not 100% sure But I also run a little bit bigger than 49 cc I would really like to here what you think about a 80/100 cc stock .

I'm running ZEDA kits. Some engines that have the 6 1/4in, round "dots" molded into the cylinder fins that can be seen on the outsides of the cylinder. This is known as the "D" cylinder. These engines are simply ported a bit better. The easier that a 2 stroke engine can "Breath" the better it will run. Adding a tuned pipe and a bigger carb are a good starting point.

I'm between the Zeda 80 and the Silver Slant, currently $189 and $149 respectively on the bicycle-engines site. The specs look nearly identical. What would make the Zeda worth $40 more?

I never use the rag joint bolts that the kits come with. I use black Allen bolts, and lock nuts. Easier to tighten on the Fly because every bicycle multi-tool has a set of Allen wrenches on it

Are these motors/kits good on trikes? I have a Miami Sun single speed trike. I'm recovering from back surgery and have really bad knees. I was looking at electric for pedal assist; but they are so expensive! These are much cheaper. Are 2 stroke motors ok for pedal assist?

I just read that that the 100CC engines are actually only 80cc for some reason. I do like what they call a 100cc with the big rounded head fins, both on top, and around the sides. It read that that head provides less vibration. I just want a lot of low end power myself, for hauling, and going up hills, and I would be happy doing 20mph at full throttle, which is actually a good clip on a bicycle.

I've got a build so simple a cave man could do it. Carry a 225 pound man and gear over the rocky mountains. Drag a dead body out of the woods . No special moving parts. Available in the town you live in . I used it to go across America this year Florida to California and back. If fixing a flat is fixing your bike then that's what my build is like 👍

I spent the extra money and got the 4 stroke, as I planned on riding it to work every day, which I do. Over 100 mpg, fun to ride. Of course, people look at me a little funny when it’s 25 degrees out lol
@MHLivestreams
@MHLivestreams 10 ай бұрын
4 stroke makes sense for longevity, plus the exhaust will be easier to deal with, 2 strokes rely on pulses to draw intake gasses. I want to build a 'stealth' bike that runs very quietly, so 4 stroke is the sensible option, plus you give good MPG figures, might have to get one.

I had a 49cc flying horse and it just blew up on me, note it ran for 5 miles with the cylinder cracked gouged and the rings in 4 pieces but as long as you remove the muffler they do have good power they are just loud, but mine lasted me 3 years of water in the gas and running it full throttle all of the time and it started up every time, also if you have one put more oil in it then 24 to 1 it just seems to run better, anyway it was definitely a great engine while it lasted

Ive had my 50cc ebay kit that was 115 dollars for over 5 years now and for a 50 its a powerhouse i had no idea they had so many motor options now but ive basically built my engine ive ported my intake and exhaust so big i cant use an exhaust pipe at all since ive stripped the bolts for the muffler in the head twice and had to retap but that always fails since it puts too much pressure on the pipe at the flange but what im getting to is ive replaced just about every part in the kit other than the motor and gas tank and my 50 would always keep up to my buddies cheap 80s mine was ported already and i bought a smaller sproket but i still have yet to reach my power ban so im still making changes but i knew when i heard you say people have a bad experience with 50s i had to speak up because mines a trooper like i said ive been riding it for about 5 years ive seen atleast 3 of my buddies blow em up granted they probably never mixed gas right which is something to watch out for
