Very clear tuturial on how to scale. You'd be surprised how many people have confused the crap outta me on how to do this. Thanks x

THANK YOU! I'm an interior design student in the 2nd quarter of CAD. So my understanding and abilities with this program are very limited. For my Historical Preservation class (and for a local group) I'm trying to work from a scan of a 1929 set of blue prints. I knew how to import the image. But until I found your tutorial I had no idea how to scale it to the right size.

Richard Craven Thats great Richard. Thanks for the information on what you are working on....sounds like a great and worthy task to undertake/ I'm glad my video was helpful for you. If you want to learn a lot more on using AutoCAD, I have a training course on my channel I am working on at the momen. There are a few videos up at the moment and I will be adding more as time goes on to complete the course. It is a bit dry to begin with, but the course is designed to cover a lot of details in using AutoCAD. Thanks again for the comment.

hi, yeah spending more time on making it smooth is the way to go. Also, if arcs or circles don't look smooth on screen type 're' or 'regen' at the command prompt to smooth out the lines visually.

Hi, thanks a lot for this learning curve. You helped me a lot. As many others have asked for, would really be nice to give is the possibility to learn how to convert from 2D to 3D. In my case this would help me modelling for 3d printing. Thanks a lot

I am currently trying to create a design RC Plane using 3 plans view. if you do not mind, please give a tutorial on how to make the design of the aircraft ... ranging from improt image, partially separated parts, then convert the image into a PDF file of the original size of the paper into the paper (non tiled to Tiled). I hope you have time to share your knowledge. Thank u very Much

Would this be the same procedure for importing CAD blocks (kitchen / bedroom / bathroom ) drawings?
@AwesomeAndrew10 жыл бұрын
Well, yes, you could use this method if you inserted a block that was drawn in different measurements than what you are using. For example, if I drew something in inches then wanted to scale the block to millimetres, I could use this method. You can also change the units when inserting a block using the insert command. But if you are just dragging and droppping blocks into your drawing, use the method shown in the video.

i have 1 question for autocad 2007. i use autocad 2007. e.g. i made 5 different .dwg file. file name is like part1 to part 4 and last file is all the parts assembly. if i make change in part file like any dimension or width. then i save this file. this change is shown in assembly. is this possible?
@AwesomeAndrew10 жыл бұрын
yes it is possible. What you are wanting to use are called: xrefs Look up the xref command in AutoCAD. I also do a basic video on xrefs on my channel or you could just google xref tutorial to learn more. Good luck

@AwesomeAndrew7 жыл бұрын
You may have to try and reduce the .tif file size. 1GB is a very large file to import, and if your computer isn't up for it, won't load.

actually you can open the image in AI and "image trace" it to "line art" or only line and export to dwg file and re scale it in cad...
@AwesomeAndrew8 жыл бұрын
+Stan yu Yes that is a good point but not everyone will have AI. Also "image trace" type functions in many software packages only work well with black and white line drawings. In the real world, many times you need to trace photographs such as buildings to use as elevations for streetscapes. image trace things don't always work well in these instances.

I really wanted to learn on how to scale an imported image, but your video was really fast, not covering the title of the actual video, laterally, you're trying to explain how to scale for someone who knows already. Next time when make a video, make sure to explain to someone who doesn't know how to the matter, and don't forget, slowly, in other words, hold your horses.
