The Neewer 35mm f/1.2 is $90. If it sucks below f/2.8 then it's strictly worse than the Neewer/Meike 35mm f/1.7 ($65-$70) which everybody loves. Or the newer Meike 35mm f/1.4 ($100). I was about to get the 7artisans f/1.2 but then I saw all the complaints that it's hard to take on/off the camera, and it has worse CA than the Meike f/1.4 (and the Meike has plenty CA already), and Arthur R's tests had really blurry corners on the 7artisans. That makes me a lot less excited to spend $140 for the 7artisans. So I guess I'll get the Meike f/1.4. I don't know. If I wanted something good I would've gotten the $300 Sigma 30mm f/1.4 a long time ago. But it's fun to have a cheap manual lens you can beat up. I mean, I have fun being careless with my Rokinon 12mm. And I can use it for self defense.

If you need wide open go for 7artisan 35mm f0.94 and pay a little more you get great images.

You can buy it for e mount but it’s a crop sensor lens and so you will have to use it in crop mode. Otherwise great lens!

Nice One!! And which one you recommend - 7artisans 1.2 or 1.4? 1.4 has pretty good reviews in terms of pic quality (probably also comes with 10 elements 9 groups). Whereas I am getting attracted to the number 1.2 So.... Confused here 🤔

it is a bit of a hard decision indeed. one thing highlighted for me on the samples you posted: the bokeh of Neewer match better my taste but it's a close call I'd say

I asked about 7artisans lens in a finnish forum. It was getting not so good thoughts. Also that i use a crop sensor camera was a big deal, and that it wasn't a canon. I'm getting the 7artisans lens somehow.....

f1.2 sonar with that works well wide open. that's special. newer 35mm ... nothing special. i own the 7artisans and consider it to be a modern classic.

Those are f1.2 lenses so too bad you only took one picture at f1.2... Isn't it the reason why people get a f1.2? To use it wide open as much as possible? Cuz f1.2 is almost twice brighter than f1.4 and has an amzing bokeh. Nice review but clearly here i still got no idea how any of those 2 lenses actually perform at f1.2 ;)
