In this video I incorrectly state that the motor is a 2638 size when it is a 2836
Typically you would need to cut off the top portion of the motor pod to remove the motor and motor mount. Using my method you don't need to cut off the motor pod. You will split the center seam to assist in mount removal. I installed the Turnigy Aerodrive 2836 1500kv motor over the stock smaller 1400kv motor. I wanted a touch more speed and punch. I also installed one of the Hobbyking 40a esc's to handle the extra load. With a 8x6" prop it pulls 31a, a 8x4" pulls 24a.
I'll be doing battery longevity tests between the two props. It's nice to be able to choose efficiency over power.
The main reason for the motor change was the stock motor was horribly out of balance out of the box. I would like it if it was balanced but it's a little under powered if you aim the model 45degrees up for a climb- it peters out...
