7K Subs (short jam)

Hey, I'm working on the second video about audiorate LFO's for Kastle Drum and Kastle 1.5, but wanted to upload something short to mark 7K subscribers, also 0.5M views. I'm sending the MakeNoise 0coast and the Korg Volca Drum out through the Folktek Nanogarden (huge plate reverb setting). I've got the SQ-1's sync out controlling the Volca and its CV-A controlling the 0coast pitch. But instead of using the GATE-A to gate the 0coast's contour envelope I'm just having it tweak the timbre via the slope envelope. Then, something I don't recall doing, I'm using the Drum's sync out as a CV signal into the 0coast's little utility adder (with just a constant voltage on the other input) patched into the dynamics control. This lets me have 3 settings from the utility knob: 1) Drum only, 2) Drum plus a sharp/glitchy 0coast sound, and 3) Drum plus a more full 0coast tone. Thanks for watching!

I like the "patchlessness" of this (and the jam itself). I too have a 0-Coast and a Volca (Modular) and an SQ-1 and use them together, but I often end up with a small jungle of cables which can be annoying. Happy to be one of your >= 7K minions! Oh and I just bought a Kastle 1.5, partly because of your videos.

Hey, many thanks for the kind and supportive words! I often feel like the 0coast core oscillator is so pretty that it doesn't need a lot! ps that sounds like a really nice setup - those are certainly my favorites (0coast, VM, and 1.5) in their respective price ranges. So many things that can be explored in each. The 1.5 can be useful as a conduit between the small cable and big cable devices (via the i/o jack. is fine to send signals TO the 0coast but not from it to the others). The VM is great for longer-form sequencing and using the motion sequencing of Fold as a continous/smooth cv sequencer. Grounding is always something to figure out but it's possible. Thanks again🙏🏼!

Hey, thanks very much🙏🏼! Yes! The table brand is LifeTime (I think), and it is sooooo much like Little Tikes table that the kids had - particularly the tabletop. I got it as something to be able to put away easily but almost never do😀.

Thank you🙏🏼! I really appreciate the feedback. The SQ-1 was in chromatic mode. Potential tension in the sequence but it can also resolve kind of nicely (vs being in the minor or major settings).
