That Q210-13 with the yellow nose is one of the most beautiful train I've ever watched on YT

CSX 9000-02 were built as C44-8W'S, then reclassified as C44-9W's by CSX after delivery. They are nicknamed "hybrids" since they have D8 exteriors, and D9 cores. Another great video my friend!

The Abbeville Sub. In Athens, Ga, there's a bridge near an old RR Depot, now CSX, me and my friends used chill out there from 1984-1992, smoking and drinking. At times I would be alone and listen to Funk, R&B, British Synth,(From the 80s), Hip-Hop, and Heavy Metal. Nothing like listening to Jimi Hendrix's 'Hear my train a comin'!' while hearing a horn blaring from an eastbound CSX late in the 🌃. Go home stumbling drunk. Fall on 🛏️. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz....
@mbmars014 жыл бұрын
That's a cool story :) Thanks for sharing. I know that bridge, of course, and I can well imagine what it must have been like in those times to chill out with good music and watching trains go by...

13:30 I wonder if those kind of number boards are lighted. Usually I see most of them are lighted, but those I don't know for sure. That was a good catch there. I always like seeing the CSX Dash 9's and YN2 paint. At 16:10 there is a road barricade that fell down from the wind. This morning I went out and caught a Union Pacific GE pair pulling a short freight train on the CSX New Castle Subdivision. Take care!

I like the newest boxcar design, but it's always good to see a locomotive with the old school paint scheme. I don't understand something. How come there are Dash 8 style trucks on CSX 9000? The trains are very good in this video, especially the cool DPUs. This is another entertaining video, thanks for the upload. :)

I meant signal at 10:07 sorry. Train literally passed it before it turned red. Collision in the making.
@mbmars014 жыл бұрын
Well, these are intermediate signals, not block signals. The block is already protected by the following block signal. So no train can come from the opposite side. A red intermediate signal only tells the engineer that there is another train (going the same direction) ahead of him in the same block between this and the following signal (yellow would mean the next signal will be red). So there's no danger here.

Well hello buddy great video, I'm planning a trip down from Michigan tommrow and well I was wondering want to meet up, go Railfan and show me Georgia's way of railfanning
@mbmars014 жыл бұрын
Well, I have to work and the Abbeville Sub line is definitely not a sit-and-watch-trains line. Actually, because of a curfew on the neighboring Monroe Sub, most action is currently at night. I recommend you go to Austell and railfan NS. There's pretty good action all day long. Or, if time permits, drive down to Folkston, where almost all CSX to and from Florida is funneled through. These are currently the two hottest spots in GA I think.

OK I have to ask what is the track speed for there? They seem to be going fast lol. Awesome video as always
@mbmars014 жыл бұрын
Track speed on this line is 40-45 mph in most sections. This is somewhere in the middle of what is typical for major freight lines. I have visited railroads in the south and west with track speeds 60+ mph for freight trains (intermodal 70 mph).
