I may not have climbed the highest mountains, canoed the wildest rivers, caught the largest fish or shot the biggest bucks, but I’ve tried. Perhaps you have, too. And that’s the essential thing. I just broke down last week and bought a Weatherby Vanguard sporter, 26 inch barrel, 7mm rem mag . Now I don’t have to borrow one for elk season anymore . Now I must purchase a scope and mounts , and probably a chronograph .

I love the 7mm and the old .270. Had them when younger but naturally went with bigger. I have everything else under the sun as a collector but will keep working on getting those in my safe. Hard to beat such flat shooting rounds, not the biggest, but can do anything I need it to and more.

I’ve shot +- 15 Eland ranging from Roland ward trophy’s to smaller bulls all with my 7mm Rem and never had a problem 👍🏻 great caliber, greetings from the South African bush !

Aloha, I have a Ruger M77, 7mag. I just got this bullets 7mag Weatherby will I be available to use them on my rifle? I just dint k own much about 7mm mag.

Ron , what do you think of the 7mm PRC ? I've heard it will actually out perform the 7 mm mag . Love your videos by the way .😊

We've got some in-depth reports on the PRC on this channel, so you might search for those. Basically the PRC is a refined Rem Mag. No belt, similar powder volume, but more head space, meaning room for long, high B.C. bullets in same action length. Chamber dimensions are a bit tighter than 7 Rem Mag, so on average accuracy should be slightly better rifle to rifle. Not a huge deal, but of value to extreme range shooters or anyone wanting to shoot mainly 175-gr. to 190-gr. bullets in .284.

Only out performs with 100fps more but 2pounds more of recoil.. but interesting fact it is already its limit for reloading, with the rem mag able to be pushed harder with reloads... go watch the real gunsmith channel, has a great in depth review

I had thirty six guns in a safe at my house and I was robbed and they took my entire safe. I had no way of replacing all of those so I just went and bought a 7mm magnum because it will work for anything in North America

Get a new safe and figure out how to bolt it to the floor and maybe some security cams. Sorry for your loss as I know some of those were probably sentimental

Choose the right ammo. Ballistic tips are awesome for Targets but horrible for hunting. Made the mistake and almost lost a deer.

I know it'll take deer, elk, and, moose with 150 gr sp! Generic federal, winchester, and remington ammo!

If I had to build one rifle to last the rest of my hunting career it would be built with the same parameters. 7mm Remington magnum light as possible , 4.5x14x50 or higher magnification with a illuminated reticle .

So I just got an xpr 7mm rem mag and the rifle only weighs 8 pds tops with scope, I haven't shot it yet but was wondering if it was better to be light or heavier? I was worried on the shooting end it might be too light and my shots go everywhere, first 7mm I've ever owned btw so it's new to me 😂
