On July 18, 2009, the battered bodies of newsagent Min Lin, his wife Lily Lin, their sons Henry and Terry; and Lily's sister Irene were found in their North Epping home. Brenda Lin was the only family member to survive - saved only by a school trip to New Caledonia. After making pleas for public assistance to solve the case, Min's brother-in-law Robert Xie was charged with their murders in 2011. In 2017, Xie was found guilty of murdering all five members of the Lin family and sentenced to five life terms in jail. In February 2021, Chief Justice Tom Bathurst and Justices Robert Allan Hulme and Robert Beech-Jones rejected Xie's appeal and found Xie didn't suffer a miscarriage of justice. This story originally aired in 2017.

To anyone questioning why she’s smiling a lot it’s because she is stronger than you people. Instead of letting the trauma destroy her she is trying to remember the things she loved about her family members. Do you seriously not see the way she is smiling specifically when she is talking about her memories of her family members and complimenting them, she is remembering them fondly and that is why she is smiling, she probably has tried to push the traumatic part out of her memory, so that she can go on living. Instead of reliving the trauma she is clearly trying very hard to think about her family members when they were alive rather than their death, that’s why you see her smiling in the tears because she is trying to fight through her traumatic memories by recalling the good ones. Also she may naturally just be a person who smiles nervously when she is put on the spot. Especially in an interview about a very personal trauma for millions to see. By that same logic you could say the interviewer is a psychopathic murderer because she is smiling throughout the video while talking about an unspeakable murder, get over yourselves🙄🤮.

Spot on. People can be the most ignorant judges. They watch a 45 minute interview and a few clips around the time and think her smiling equals 24 hours of blissful happiness every single day of her life. If people weren't so self centered they would be able to see through a smile to the sadness in someone's eyes.

As parents, the fact that you are young and growing as our revered children is a miracle we enjoy so immensely - we as parents are NOT looking to prove out “if” you are emoting and professing your love properly ....that isn’t the goal - We Know you Love us - it’s understood. - You will “understand” someday and it will be overwhelming- there are GREAT things in your future. You WILL get there ...AND you will reunite w/ your family someday - until then - Prayers and blessings to you

The uncle seemed like a pretty obvious person of interest from Day 1, and there seemed to be a lot of circumstantial evidence against him as well as physical evidence if they only looked. How did it take two years before his initial arrest? That seems like pretty lackadaisical police work. Meanwhile, that poor girl was forced to live with this monster during this time and endure sexual abuse. And the evidence of sexual abuse was suppressed at the trial? I had to pause and write this comment because I totally understand the sadness she felt when she was explaining the last time she saw her father. As an Asian whose parents are also immigrants, you never experienced love and affection as a child. You just knew your parents loved you because they worked so hard to give you a better life. It’s almost uncomfortable to say “I love you” or give hugs but you just never know when it’ll be the last time you see them 😔

And that was the first sin that was committed between the Lucifer (Iblis) the devil and Adam, which caused the him to be out casted from the heaven. But please note that the devil was never an angel he was infact a jinn, a creation also of God created from a smokeless fire. Lucifer's arrogance was so much so, he refused to bow down to the unveiling of Adam to all the inhabitants of the 7 heavens, when all the inhabitants of all the heavens did. He refused claiming to be superior and mocking Adam (AS) to be hollow and weak, as he was able to pass through Adam so effortlessly with ease.

For anyone saying anything about the way this girl is talking or her expressions should be ashamed. Have you been through what this young lady has been through? NO! Everyone has a different way of coping with stress this is hers. She can not control her facial expressions or her voice in high stress situations. I have done the same thing when in a high stress situation. You don't know how you are going to react in this type of situation and you shouldn't judge her either. If you look at the expression she had at the funeral she was in shock and was totally lost. I have been to a lot of funerals and I have never been to one where someone didn't smile. Most would say no. But when it comes to judgment time, it’s much easier to convict people who don’t look like us.
