This was pure innocence. A group of seven carefree siblings and cousins, enjoying a moment of childhood independence as they walked to get an ice cream from the shops on a hot Australian summer evening. Then - without warning - the unthinkable.
In the blink of an eye, an alleged drunk driver ploughs his out-of-control ute into the group at more than 100 kilometres per hour. Three siblings - Antony Abdallah, 13, Angelina Abdallah, 12, and Sienna Abdallah, 8, and their cousin Veronique Sakr, 11, were killed instantly in Sydney's west, barely 10 minutes from their home.
Determined to right the wrong for their beautiful children, the families share with Michael Usher their powerful fight for justice to ensure no other family endures the same. And, for the first time, the three children who survived the shocking accident tell of their frightening ordeal.

ONE of our sons was hit by a car, when he was 16 years old. He was not expected to live. We were told he had less than 2 hours to live. I walked into the pit of hell and sat down and prayed and prayed and prayed!! My husband and I also have 6 children and we are Catholic. We had ONE in a hospital bed. This beautiful, loving family lost 4!! Oh, how heart ripping!!! I will never be the same, Our son lived and I passed through hell. But, I am a different me, today. I had almost the exact same experience. My son was 11, hit by a car, and not expected to make it. Before we left the hospital, they made us talk to a counselor. He told us to expect to have PTSD. At that point we knew our son was going to be fine, so we didn't take him seriously. My husband and I couldn't believe how right he was. Even now, 16 years later, there are things that make us relive it all just like we're watching him almost die again. Our horror only lasted 8 days, and to think of how it changed our lives completely and forever, even though our son had healed 100%, makes my heart shatter for these families, especially the one who lost 3. May God continue to give them strength.

I can really appreciate this father admitting that he drove under the influence back in his 20's. Someone else in his position might be so angry and bitter, seeking revenge against the drink driver but in admitting his own flaws he seemed more able to forgive somehow. These are such good people.

I forgot to say the parents had no choice they had to go on they have other children to take care of. I can not imagine losing 3 children. But I understand losing one child. My son died as a newborn of a heart defect. I wanted to hide from the world but I had a 2 yr old and a 6 yr old to take care of. My dear Grandmother was ripped from us by a dunk driver in 1968 when I was 17 and she was 68. I think of her often and dream of her as well. I know just a little bit of the pain and sorrow these families are going through and it breaks my heart. Your strength and faith has moved me beyond words.

I could not stop my tears falling when Marbelle talked about the moment she tried to go to everyone and tried to "wake them up". OMG how sad to hear about this tragedy. This just broke my heart so much. I have been grieving my husband' death for 3 years. The have lost 4 children in the family circle and 3 injured and are holding it together. I supper from depression and barely leave the house. Prayers for the family.

I suffer from depression and anxiety as well and can’t get out of bed most days and I haven’t been through anything near as tragic as you have. Keep your head up and keep pushing on! I remember when this first happened I couldn’t stop crying & when I saw the interview with there father I thought how is he holding it together. Now I know it was there believe in our beautiful lord that has got them through. Such a wonderful loving family the lord obviously needed some amazing Angel’s for an important job that would be why he called them home. It’s such an absolute tragedy ! 💕😢💕

I remember the news that night on Feb 1st last year and, like most people no doubt, the story of that incident stopped me in my tracks and left me in tears. I pray I will never have to go through child loss, as a single parent with 3 grown young adults, it is my biggest fear, on a daily basis...I try not to dwell on it if that’s the correct word to use....the closest I’ve ever experienced child loss is when my brother lost all his children (2 girls ages 17 & 27 my nephew age 19) they all lived productive lives, graduated from university, had plans on attending university, travelling back to their grandmothers memorial services, their lives were all taken that night late one December, their parents lives are forever changed, I see smiles and laughs, then suddenly I see many moments of sadness and tears, they live every day with grief....my heart breaks to have come across this video....I hope the parents will know tonight I will pray harder...for them...and for all parents of child loss, may god give them strength, peace, hope and the courage to go on....such beautiful children, RIP you beautiful Angels.

I cried through it all. Although there is great sadness in this family there is greater love. All of the children are beautifull. The adults are amazing. Thankyou for sharing a piece of your family with us. I loved how honest this family was with us. Sienna looked so much like her beautifull mom. I feel this has changed me for the better. I wish you nothing but the best,I definitely think they should have more children,they have so much love to share,not just that they do what's right (if that makes sense,you can see these children have been raised right).
