I love my 1996 4WD Hijet mini truck, but I'm not a fan of the distributor and carburetor. Electronic ignition and fuel injection started to be common on the kei cars around 25 years ago.

I haven't imported a car yet from Japan everything ive been getting as already been stateside but maybe in 2024 or sooner I'll import my first kei. NYC makes it very hard tho

@@Liberty4Ever I'm swapping a Honda engine into little Nissan. It fits and it will be a Texas highway speed capable car and probably get 60mpg.

@@Waybeforethefame Yeah, Texas makes it super easy :) The big mystery to me is the "local broker" part of the deal where you have to pay someone at the stateside port to get the car from them. My guess is it would be much cheaper if it came in as "parts" rather than as a complete car, but I don't know. If you look at Japan auctions the deals are insane.
