Electricity prices need to be reduced by at least 75% (it is simply too expensive). I know if the GNU parties can come together and stop this privatization nonsense and focus on getting Eskom to function properly as a monopoly it can be done for the benefit of all South Africans and investors involved in industrialization. Cheap electricity will mean that this country will be very attractive for manufacturing. Things like water and electricity shouldn't be privatized in mt view.

Cheap electricity means the goverment will have to reduce spending on other departments to cover the costs of eskom, and with that you will be complaining again, and 75% reduction is diabolical, for a sane person you can't be saying that.

Please go read BusinessTech report on Eskom in the last two weeks. Kusile and Koeberg stations have returned, giving us a 800MW load back into the commercial and residential grid. Guys let us not talk, when we don't have facts. Loadshedding might return in the future but only because of maintenance or vandalism. PS: I'm not affiliated with any political party, just a mere student.

​@@joshdebruin8975yes those stations are back up, but our generation is still in a massive deficit. Not to mention extremely poor maintenance and poor coal quality and corruption. The stations are still running well above normal levels of load. We're still not building any meaningful power generation plants(we are building coal plants but we're back to square 1 with the coal issue) Not to mention that he's been in this position for many years. And nothing has happened until his position has been threatened. No new developments or plans on the last 5 years. The only new thing is the confirmation of the corruption in Eskom.
