Extremely helpful video. Can you share the steps on how you put it together? This is the EXACT type of simple video I'm looking to create and share with my team to teach concepts. I've shared this one with great success. Thanks!

Hello, thanks for your comment. I do have a stick-handling video that should be useful to a young player here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/moekgZ1-briLZ5Y That should be a good starting point, and the nice thing is that you can do it at home. I plan on making a shooting video in the future as well. This video is more geared toward advanced players. However, the angling concepts covered in this video are key habits that players at all levels should learn. It's very common for young players to skate directly at an opponent who has the puck. If the defending player fails to take the puck away, then they will take themselves out of the play, which often results in giving the puck carrier a scoring opportunity. Understanding that it's best to angle the puck carrier toward the boards, skate with the puck carrier and not at them, and that it's important to make multiple efforts to steal the puck is critical. Once young kids find themselves in a game situation, they should be thinking about this concept anytime the other team has the puck. Thanks again. If you have a specific question, or a suggestion for a video let me know.

Great explanation for the concept of positional play & angling. However, so difficult to watch that age group play adult size ice and adult size nets. The cost also just to watch how little the puck is utilized is mind numbing for a developmental age. Shrink the ice! Get more involvement;more touches; more shots; more skating; more fun. Shrinking the net improves both shot quality and tendy confidence. Allow them to get into the game and not be a frozen punching bag. 🤔✌🏻
