Only recently discovered your channel and finding it fascinating ! What a lovely environment for your children to grow up in. So many kids rely on mind numbing video games as pretty much their sole form of entertainment these days. Its wonderful to see children learning about the great outdoors. From what I hear, Sounds like your hitting the rev limiter during take off and turns. It is a protection mechanism for the engine. When the jet civitates it allows the engine to rev too high

Good stuff. Although I must say that you west coasters are a bit more flash and up-market than us guys from Wanganui. We did a similar thing quite a few years ago now. But we just got a crashed jet-ski and a 8 foot dingy. Then got the angle grinder cut the guts out of the jetski all in one hit, still attached to the bottom. Then cut a similar hole in the bottom of the dingy, a lot of epoxy and rivets and we were away laughing. The one your mate has looks like quite a flash harry job.

Nice ride. if you have to preasurize the tank you have another problem. That's what fuel pumps are for. That is probably running a Mikuni pump with a crank pulse. The pump could be failing or the hose could have a leak OR... my thoughts due to your comments... the intake design is in need of reconsideration. Intake design is huge. I've played with these for years... I have refined my designs for both holeshot and top end. It is pretty huge but make sure the fuel delivery is good. Think about adding a fuel preasure gauge and monitor it to prove it is good. If it is not then fix it, blowing in the fuel cell won't work and a lean condition WILL cost you an engine!!! Carb jetting is also key. Cheers... Happy Trails!!!

I think it's a pressure issue as well. Without a metal fuel tank you'll not get the extra-pressure you need imho. Good video mate.

hey its a wearing and you buy stainless or plastic from ebay way cheaper than shops in nz,if its still misfiring check the pop off pressure settings in the carbs,if your still using the original fuel tap by pass that as they are common to blockup and cause issues,im assuming you already have cleaned the internal carb filters in each carb plus the one in the fuel tank pickup, also you had alot of water in the hull check you dont have an exhaust leak in the expansion chamber, the small welch plugs corrodes and water gets sprayed on the carbs and stator cover etc..lots of fun these small boats i built one about ten years ago still got it :)

look at your spark plugs after a run. if they're dark and wet you're running rich if they are light brown you're fine. There's a cpl ways to get more power out of it. first you can lean out the fuel air screw on the carbs. I believe counter clockwise for leaner mixture and clockwise for a richer setting. the other thing you can do and most likely is the issue is lean out the carbs all together. on the needle that goes up with the slides there's internal settings on most. you just remove the top slide housing to access your need. there will be a circlip that allows you to make it run leaner. further down the circlip is the leaner it will be. take it down a notch on both carbs, take it for a run and check the spark plugs to make sure you're not running too lean. don't let the spark plug get anything lighter looking than a light tan color. something close to white will burn your pistons up. hope that works for you guys! I'd say you have plenty of fuel pressure, it's most likely running too rich. do you notice it goes through alot of gas, or foul plugs out alot?

Try raise the fuel level in the carbs by lifting the floats up in the fuel bowels, kinda sounds like it's starving for fuel. Also a good idea to get some fresh sparkplugs (make sure they are gapped right)and have a go at reading the plugs (plenty of info on this online) Cheers boys!

1 it's not a pressurized fuel system, it's a diaphragm fuel pump, if the tank is not vented to air the pumps can't pull fuel. 2 you are cavitating bad, you need to go with a smaller pitch impeller. You are very close.
