Lance here: mega caps, like Apple, drive net buying, buy-backs, rise due to earnings, passive investing brings in 37% of any dollar to these mega caps Also Lance (in previous eps.): Apple is one of the largest buy-back companies, they're not increasing REVENUES I'm not saying he's wrong. I think he's right, but maybe the focus should more be on that foreign banks/investors, hedge funds, as well as 401k/pension plans are using mega caps as a store of wealth, however temporarily, and that for some of these mega caps revenue doesn't matter (until it does).

@ria I have a question. I am trying to follow your simple visor equity portfolio. Does a new investor buy all the allocated stocks in the portfolio right away or DCA into all of them over a few months? Wondering specifically around bond cost right now, pick up equities and wait for bonds to come down?

I look at the coupon as something that is taxed at 25%. The discount that I get back at maturity is taxed at 0 or 15% (if it matures in excess of 1 year)

Are Capital gains taxes on the total gain or is there a certain amount not taxed then the gains are applied?
