He was sentenced to 5 years for it. I dont like how Dave just glosses over that fact saying that candace only said dave was a drug addict...seriously dave, you only got *drug addict* from his miserable rap sheet....That was very disingenuous of you or should i say strawman?. To me, there is nothing more alluring & captivating than watching/listening to a wise, knowing & balanced man share their thoughts and experiences through recollection or a story-like cadence. It's such a rewarding experience. When such an experience is delivered by a shrewed, percipient comic like Dave Chappelle, it becomes something very special. Comedy (the art of) is not just entertainment... It is a vital, soul resuscitating art form that, like music & visual arts, fills a void in our HUMAN lives. It's anything from an ice cold soft-drink for our souls - that tickles on the way down, to a stumbled upon flotation device in a torment sea of hate. Comics are, in essence, burden bearers. OUR burden bearers... which is why I'm so saddened & sickened by the shit show - the fuckin horror show - they've put Dave Chappelle through! For Dave Chappelle to have such a presence on stage ( wise & percipient), the 'behind-the-scenes' truth is that he must have been run through the ringer! I could go on about how he's been disgraced & how unfair it is... but instead, I'll just say how great it is to see him back in his element...his home - Even if the light in is eyes has dimmed a little & he seems a bit owlish & sobered. The man is a goddamn treasure & I have a tremendous amount of respect for him!! it must be hard being the greatest - even more difficult when you've EARNED that title. But damn..it must feel good to be sticking it to these bastards! Good for you, Dave!

Woodrow Wilson, in 1919, was in Paris negotiating the treaty to end WW1. The Japanese delegation proposed a resolution to be included in the treaty that would recognize universal racial equality. Wilson knew the US Senate would never ratify a treaty with a resolution like that attached to it so, in negotiation with England and France, they instead offered to give Japan territory in China that had been colonized by Germany. In exchange Japan would forget about the resolution. Japan accepted. This was done without consulting ANYONE in China. An American president negotiated the transfer of land and people that we did not control to people it did not belong to (which, btw sparked a civil war in China, the dynasty was overthrown for doing nothing about it) because America would never submit to the idea of racial equality. That is how steep the cliff that Dave's great grandfather was trying to climb ... and I'm not sure it is any less steep today. Thanks Dave ... this show was perfect. *Edit* I didn't write this to start a discussion about world politics and history, the point was to honor Dave's great grandfather and every other person that has struggled for racial equal anywhere.

@emailbenbenson4 жыл бұрын
Yep. This led to the Rape of Nanking. Japan could wipe out the Chinese because no white western nation would bother to act. Only later did the US secretly aid the Chinese with the Flying Tigers (training the Chinese in air combat to fight the Japanese). Then the USA cut off oil and Japan's financial accounts. Those actions against Japan led to their attack on Pearl Harbor and the Philippines. The Philippines being the WORST, but that's not talked about.

@Matt Davis Man just stop, just stop. If you think that because the guy was big and uncooperative and had other things going on that it was therefore okay to lean on his neck for 8:46 then you need to take a second and rethink about what that really means. If you don't have anything good to say just shut the fuck up.
@obineux62594 жыл бұрын
@Matt Davis how dumb, out of touch with reality or politically biased and brainwashed do you have to be to believe a handcuffed horizontal man of any size needed 180 pounds of pressure on his cartroid artery for 9mins(3mins after blacking out) to keep him cooperative. US politics have definitely damaged a lot of brains beyond repair
@evan91114 жыл бұрын
@Matt Davis I know the truth dumbass. The truth is we watched a man have his airway cut off for 8 minutes and 46 seconds. That is purposeful and there is in no way that he did that accidentally or because he was fearing for his life. He was handcuffed and he had 3 other officers surrounding him, I wonder where you get your "truth" from honestly, because the idea that you can even believe for a second that what happened was justified is truly disgusting.

@Matt Davis you're one of the articulate idiots Dave talks about if you believe you can kneel on another man's neck for that long and not cause permanent damage, and yes he put his whole bodyweight on his knee perfectly illustrated by his hand in his pocket. A man was crushed to death under the weight of 4 cops and you're gas lighting yourself, telling yourself red is blue to fit your agenda. There are articulate idiots afterall lol

he ignores important things. not saying he isn't right. but it's not funny. also ex military people are dangerous. they are not role models. not good people. yet he makes them look like the perfect people. they did not fight against terror they fought mainly for money. no different than any other murderer. and in these cases they killed police man because they were missing the feel of murder, the feel of taking away one's life. that's all to it nothing noble. also why bring slavery into everything it's just too much at this point, none of the current generation were slaves, they bring up their grandparents suffering as an argument, newsflash, it's not a great argument.. i think he could have made more out of this than he did. either by being funny or phrasing things differently. it's not cool to make mass murderers (ex SOLDIERS) role models.

Yeah might be a good few but the bad out wayyyy the good by ALOT! they only got themselves to blame. once they actually have officer's that are from the community from black Latino Asian middle eastern gay straight then I'll start saying okay they are changing. Cause it starts with them NOT US

@BoomerKeith14 жыл бұрын
@@Truth_CA The bad cops don't out number the good ones. If that were the case we'd see so much more of the same bullshit we've seen. What's important is to get rid of the bad cops and allow the good one's the ability to police themselves without fear of retaliation. And police forces do have minority representation on their forces. Take Baltimore for example, the same city where Freddie Gray was killed by the police, is 45% White officers, 44% Black officers, 7% Hispanic officers, and less than 1% "other". There's equal representation, however, when you look at the demographics of Baltimore you see that the percentages of Black officers doesn't match the percentage of Black residents. Black residents make up 63% of Baltimore. So, it's not that there aren't any minorities on police forces across the country, it's that the gap between the percentages of minority officers and minority residents is too big.

I think those guys saw too much shit in Iraq and had issues with the system when they got back. You don't think they tortured and killed innocent people in Iraq ? Of course they did. Its all on record. This distrust of the government and system has deep roots and its not just blacks. Many whites too. The deepstate is real and its constantly creating conflicts to distract people. Race war has been used politically for decades and I dont see any end to it.

You got suckered into his nihilistic game. Bringing up the numbers made it about himself. He is just making money off the death of a man killed by crooked cops. Where is his superior knowledge when it comes to blacks getting killed in the streets or aborted? Where is his rage that a retired black officer was killed during the "not so much of a riot." Dave showed his true ignorance regarding the order our country needs right now. He is not uniting but simply making money off dividing. Truly pathetic.
