He agreed to it so I’m sure the payoff was mad worth it Smart for both In the end, gambles on the first and gets paid for 3 at end.. as if gambling on Chappelle and comedy is even a gamble

Man. I just couldn’t admire and respect any human being more than Dave Chappelle. He’s an American treasure up there with Ali, Miles and people that literally made history and defined the absolute best in American culture. He does it so simply. He’s just honestly talking about the real world without fear and with a stunning intellect and a simple, consistent morality. He went in to the crucible and came out harder than steel.

@@toriawelsh7274 I understand your concept and mentality, but understand ours. If your father is your idol then you are luckier than you realize apparently. Honestly, you can consider yourself lucky if you were raised with one parent. Alot of us grew up in the system and have only known "whoever's shift it is" as mom and dad or have known multiple people as mom and dad because they get uprooted and shipped away to another family every few months. You can't be like that, not everyone has the same point of view as you.

That audience speaks volumes- this guy always has and always will be extremely loved, adored, and comforted. That whole room was probably so warm to see one of the greats going toe to toe with another one whom they've all clearly missed. Dave is a goddamned legend with a golden heart- would love to have even just a two minute convo with that guy one day.

Great show, I feel Conan treated him with respect on his return. A good welcome back in my opinion. The way the crowd acted only justified his absence further. Now Dave is back in the game and relevant as ever.

Dave Chappelle has changed. It's amazing how these jokes, largely based on his seeming innocence and harmless nature - his youthful nature helps too. A non-physical slapstick version of Charlie Chaplin of you like. Today, he is totally different. How he manages to retain his ability to create amazing comedy whilst holding mature conversations with his audience really is mind blowing.
