@@blackgothgoddess3164 I'm scared of Eden Bodyworks now. I used their cowash and it was perfect but when I used the masque (coconut shea), I couldn't detangle at all. I had to gently wash it out and use my Leave-In conditioner as a detangler afterwards.

With low porosity hair coconut oil sits on top and doesn't penetrate into the hair

@@healingwithgolden Eveyrthing sits on top of low porosity hair until you learn how to work it in. Apply very warm water first then apply any hair product or oil you desire, but keep in mind castor oil and some others do not penetrate at all because they are for sealing.

@@ericwilliams5518 actually some products do penetrate the hair shaft. For example kriya botanicals low porosity system is heaven sent for lopo hair. Very warm water helps to raise the cuticle to aid in penetration, However coconut oil is a heavy oil, which is why it is better for high porosity hair. I can't speak for every low porosity natural I can only speak for me

I need to revisit EdenBodyworks. I remember liking the mask from the coconut line, being really impressed with the leave in and the curl defining cream and the 16 oz size of the jar lasts FAEVAA. The gel was watery and did nothing for my hair, and the jojoba monoi mask didn't either. It might have been too thick to penetrate my low porosity hair. I had also bought the spray leave-in, serum and mask from the almond marshmallow line but ended up giving it to my mom because I was moving. I never tried it, but I do remember that all three products smelled very strongly of cherry limeade. But the price is low enough that it's worth another try, I do like to have products that I can recommend to people that only shop at big box stores. Thanks for sharing!

One of my favorite brands 🥰 I’ve used the curl creme and cowash since my big chop 2 years ago. Honestly I hated the jojoba conditioner-that’s when I found out that my hair doesn’t like wax. But I LOVE the split end repair masque.

Faye In The City I’ve gotten it from Sally’s and Target. But it has to be an area with a larger black population. When I shop in my chicago suburbs, can’t find anything. When I go closer to downtown, natural products take up two whole walls at Sally’s.

You are so right about putting a plastic bag over your leave-in and letting it soak in. I took this tip from you and it completely changed the game for me. I love this line. The pudding is more so for moisture & the curl cream is for definition. The pudding is very thick so a little goes a long way especially if you have low porosity hair.

Yeah, definitely get the Eden Body Works curl defining cremes. I literally would use the leave in and that product and nothing else. I always had so much definition, but at the same time, my hair was so moisturized. On my tapered cut, divine!

But eventually I began to truly see texture and shine ( I used to carry an oil and water bottle along with me like I had soul glow because it would start to look dry on the surface)!😂🤣 That is what I can see your hair doing now that you have cut it.
